Responsible for the preventative maintenance, repairing, and continual operation of all Central Laundry Facility equipment. Essential Functions
Lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and development of highway and roadway projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
Utilize industry standard programs such as MicroStation, GeoPak, OpenRoads Designer, Civil 3D, and other related design software to create detailed highway design plans, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and other required documentation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and project managers, to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for complex transportation projects
Apply your expertise in highway design standards to create safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible designs for various types of roads and highways
Participate in the preparation of technical reports, feasibility studies, and design calculations to support project proposals and submissions
Lead the coordination and communication with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and approvals are obtained
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and designers, fostering their professional growth and development
Perform quality control reviews of design documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project objectives
Actively stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in highway design to enhance the team's capabilities and project outcomes
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
A minimum of Four (4) years of experience in highway and roadway design, with a significant focus on DOT projects
Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in civil engineering or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Proficiency in one or more of the following - MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software
Strong understanding of highway design standards, regulations, and guidelines including: MUTCD , VDOT , AASHTO
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality design documents
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills and Experience
Master's degree in civil engineering
Eight (8) + years of experience in highway and roadway design, with a significant focus on DOT projects
Alternate Project Delivery experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow & assist with development of procedures for controlling contract drawings.
Assist Project Administrator with set up of the job management system.
Assist the project team with the building permit process.
Assist the Superintendent in the development of the site utilization plan.
Assist with the review and coordination of the Loss Prevention, Sustainability Action Plan and Quality Control Program.
Responsible for proactive administration of reviewing and processing all submittal data and shop drawings to ensure project schedules are expedited and materials are delivered on time.
Prepare and maintain administrative logs (RFI, RFP, COR, Submittal, Document Control)
Serve as the onsite quality manager for assigned trades by verifying subcontractor deliveries meet approved submittal requirements.
Attend and participate in project meetings, and assist the Project Manager with the preparation of progress reports/meeting minutes.
Assist with the distribution of proposal change documents to subcontractors/suppliers and assist with collecting pricing and/or preparing change proposal requirements for internal pricing review.
Ensure all clarifications/changes, directives, RFIs, etc. are updated on the “as-built” drawings and are fully coordinated with the project team.
Work alongside senior members of the preconstruction team to estimate a project and develop knowledge of the overall preconstruction process.
Perform preconstruction duties including but not limited to quantity take-offs, budget development, subcontractor procurement, assembling exhibit ones, and assembling value engineering worksheets
Assist with constructability reviews, project set up, and subcontractor communication
Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within your capability and control and the help of safety staff.

B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field position or 0-3 years of progressive construction related experience.

Summary/Objective:
Our Project Engineer - MEP will work with the Project Managers (PM's) and Project Manager Assistants (PMA's) to provide leadership for our Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel project. Our Project Engineers interact daily with the field crews, customers, vendors, and subcontractors. A Project Engineers main objective is to make sure that all of our team members have the correct information and resources to be successful.
Essential Functions:
* A Project Engineer maintains project tracking reports to monitor productivity and labor utilization
* Creates and maintain internal project schedules
* Prepares complete, accurate and timely submittals for construction projects based on project drawings, specifications, and vendor information
* Tracks and receives approved submittals from architect or engineer and coordinates with Project Team
* Assists Project Manager and other Project Engineers by preparing all necessary back up relating to change requests
* Completes of all required project close-out documents per contract
* Updates and distributes contract documents to subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, and general conditions
* Schedules all required construction meetings with the ACI Team, our subcontractors, vendors and customers
* Attends pre-bid, project and closeout meetings
* Solicits subcontractors and suppliers for proposals prior to submission deadline
* Prepares correspondence with client, architect, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
* Submits building permit application, follows-up on review progress and receives upon approval
* Assists Project Manager to achieve quality, schedule, budget and safety
* Utilizes and maintains tools: schedules and documents management to track and record project performance
* Documents quality and progress of each subcontractor and suppliers and notifies of any changes to the plans, specifications and/or schedule
* Informs management of productivity, costs, quality control, document management and processing of applications for payment
* Notifies management of any issues that arise which affects quality, budget, progress and safety

Required:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering field, and 2+ years of experience in a commercial construction environment; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
