Design cost-effective, competitive mechanical and electromechanical products for a wide ranging product line, used primarily in the commercial and military aerospace industry. This includes creating improvements to existing products and developing new products; all by utilizing a broad array of analytical, design, and hardware skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages multiple projects effectively.
Project management includes: Concept-to-production, product support during production, risk reduction and cost reduction initiatives.
Interprets customer specifications into design features and constraints.

Develops design models using CAD Software (especially SolidWorks).
Prepares working drawings to MNAI/industry drawing standards, and layouts from CAD models and design specifications.

Prepares appropriate presentations, conducts and leads design review meetings that include personnel from different areas, such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Marketing, and others.
Provides project management and engineering support including design, specification review, trouble-shooting. Successfully creates, manages and meets tight schedules/deadlines.
Communicates and works with in-house machine shop, Purchasing, Planning, Marketing, Operations personnel, Assembly, Quality and suppliers on new designs, design improvements/cost reduction, and current product issues.
Performs and documents product development, qualification testing (structural and environmental) and maturity testing on new and legacy designs.
Identifies, communicates, and improves design processes with other personnel; presents design to client and/or Product Team for approval and/or modifications.
Provides production, operational, and sales support as needed.
Complies with and conducts business in accordance with the letter, spirit, and intent of all relevant laws and regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions; wherefore, refrains from any illegal, dishonest, unethical conduct. Job Summary:

Description
Commission, manage customers, deadlines, and manage QC installation of integrated systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical oversight of a project from award through installation and completion
Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness
Review scopes and drawings of work for all assigned projects
Identify and address technical or logistical impediments to delivering the scope of work
Identify special requirements for the project, including but not limited to: test equipment, specialized tools, rigging support
Test audio DSP or video processing systems software required for system functionality
Provide engineering support to the project installation team when needed
Provide technical oversight on the commissioning of systems, both in-house and on-site
Meet with current/prospective vendors to help evaluate products
Provide weekly project updates for the Project Manager
Responsible for assisting the Project Manager in monitoring the project budget
Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting when needed
Provide engineering and DSP system programming support to the project installation team when needed. Coordinate with the Programmer to deliver a comprehensive and custom room code and function.
Coordinate with the Project Manager to assist with securing the necessary personnel for installation
Support the Project Manager in project hand-off to the installation team when needed
Provide the Project Manager with documented test results from system testing and commissioning
Review project designs created by internal and external resources and submit to the CAD department
Review field and shop red-line drawings, revise shop drawings to “as-built' status for submission to the CAD department.
Other duties as required.
Ability to travel to various job sites required

Skills and Abilities
Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner
Proven business writing skills
Proficient with test and calibration equipment
Support user acceptance testing
Ability to deploy programs, change, and troubleshoot (AMX/Crestron)
Ability to diagnose complex system problems
Advanced computer skills as required for the design, configuration, and operation of AV equipment
Ability to work and think independently, and ensure that deadlines are met
Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues
Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
Minimum five years of AV experience is preferred
A four-year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience
