4+ years of experience as a Content Designer, UX Writer or Experience Designer specializing in writing, or 8+ years in a related role

Project Description:
Work with Electrical Distribution Solar Designers and Solar Project Managers to support the design/installation of electrical facilities for the interconnection of customer owned solar systems, both on-site rooftop/ground mount systems and community solar gardens. Work as an entry level Distribution Solar Designer doing tasks that include mapping facilities in GIS, designing basic customer projects and coordinating installation with construction, obtaining right of way permits for facilities, billing customers, tracking projects with construction. Through practical operations experience and mentoring, a successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence, people skills, understanding of construction practices, and project management skills.
This will be a opportunity starting in January 2025. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer. If the intern works during the school year, their hours should be part-time.
Minimum Requirements:
* Must be enrolled in programs focused on GIS, drafting, gas design, electric design, project management, construction management, environmental studies, natural sciences, and similar.
* Must live within commutable distance to service centers listed.
* Must have valid drivers license and personal transportation.
* Must have availability to work on site.
* Must be a junior or above.

Full Time / Part Time Bloomington, MN **Salary** $16-$18 **Description** **Responsibilities** * The Design Assistant will work hands-on with Gabberts Designers. They will assist with tasks such as: * Setting up presentation rooms per Designers' requests. * Reviewing order paperwork for completion and accuracy.
* Attending presentations and house calls to take notes and assist with selections.
* Monitoring project statuses and communicating changes to Designers and/or clients.
* The Design Assistant maintains the resource room, including fabrics and catalogs, and orders new samples as necessary.
* On larger projects including coordinating models homes, the Design Assistant will assist with ordering merchandise, coordinating deliveries, and packing and unpacking the merchandise.
* Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**
**Education:** Associate or Bachelor's degree in design preferred.
**Experience:** Three to five years of administrative experience preferred.
**Physical Demands:** Low physical demands required. The employee is regularly required to sit for sustained periods of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
**Other:** Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Drafting and proofreading skills are a plus.
