Role Description
This is an on-site Designer (Fashion) role located at our Hawthorne, CA office. Looking for a highly passionate and creative detail-oriented fashion designer, who will be responsible for designing the full collection - knits and wovens.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop the Michael Stars product lines according to market trends and the Michael Stars vision
Research trends and bring in new ideas through competitive shopping; textile shows; reviewing trend services, tear sheets, magazines, trade journals and websites
Assist in the development of seasonal color palettes and fabrications
Communicate and work closely with tech designer and patternmakers
Attend fittings
Partner with tech design and merchandising to develop cost engineering to hit margins and retails
Create and maintain design tech packs
Meet all deadlines on design calendar
Illustrator and free-hand flat sketching
Research trims, fabrics and sourcing
Make product presentations to internal team members
Design specials outside of seasonal collections

About the Job: The primary responsibility is to assist in creating art, repeats, graphics and trims for all junior product categories.
A day in the life, what you'll be doing:
Design and Illustrate original art across all categories.
