What this Department does: The Engineering and Technical Services organization serves as a technical resource for the Company as it relates to the design, construction, and operation of facilities and pipe used in the transportation and storage of natural gas and crude oil. In addition to partnering with Operations to assess and maintain our existing assets, we play an integral role in new projects - from conception to completion. What you will do: As a Piping Drafter Intern, you will be a vital part of our engineering team, learning the intricacies of piping design and drafting. You will work closely with experienced professionals to develop process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical drawings and layouts to help ensure accuracy and adherence to Tallgrass and standard industry standards. You can expect to: * Assist in creating process and piping type drawings, including diagrams, general arrangements, and details. * Learn and utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) to create and modify diagrams and drawings. * Understand and apply piping codes, standards, and specifications. * Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure project accuracy and efficiency. * Research and analyze piping systems and components. * Assist in preparing material requisitions and bill of materials. * Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in piping design.
