About the Role

As a Design Consultant, you'll meet with pre-qualified homeowners, present premium home improvement solutions, and guide customers confidently through the buying decision - all in the comfort of their home.
What You'll Do
Run pre-set, company-provided appointments (no cold calling)

As a member of our Infrastructure and Services Group, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
- Designing systems ranging from basic to highly complex to meet client needs. This includes HVAC master planning and studies, HVAC and plumbing systems, mechanical systems such as co-generation, and centralized energy systems. The role also involves implementing energy efficiency improvements for large campus environments-including manufacturing facilities, hospitals, and water systems-focused on sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building initiatives.
- Performing other duties as required such as heating/cooling load calculations, duct/pipe sizing, equipment selections, system layouts, and coordination with other design disciplines.
- Developing detailed energy models and Life Cycle Cost Analysis for various building types.
- Performing Level 1 through 3 energy audits to assess energy consumption, evaluate HVAC performance, identify high-energy loads, and propose energy-saving measures.
- Performing site surveys, developing equipment inventories, evaluating proposed energy efficiency measures, and recommending improvements.
- Collaborating with sales staff to develop proposals in response to current and prospective client requests for proposals (RFPs). Reviewing draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices. Engaging with existing and potential clients to review their current and future design needs.
- Attending conferences, symposia, and similar events to enhance the visibility of the firm's products and services in coordination with relevant sales staff.
- Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff.

Benefits: Benefits package varies by location As Professional Sales Associate/Home Comfort Design, you are a key member of the team who proactively generates sales and nurtures relationships. You are responsible for visiting customer homes to determine their HVAC needs and make the appropriate recommendations for system replacement. Exemplifying our code of values by showing respect and courtesy to all customers and employees.This position is for you if you are self-motivated, energetic, and results oriented with a high level of work intensity and a bias for action. You are driven to provide the highest level of customer service and satisfaction and able to effectively manage a variety of situations on a day-to-day basis. 100% training provided on our systems and operations. Specific Responsibilities:
Available to go on two to three calls per day, including some weekends and evenings to accommodate customer availability
Receive incoming calls in professional and courteous manner
Complete all necessary paperwork to include: agreements, finance documents, heat gain and loss calculations, installation notes and rebate forms.
Lead generation activities to include attending networking events, home shows and community events and making outbound calls.
Attend weekly sales meeting and coaching sessions.
Job Requirements:
Valid Driver's License
Prior industry experience industry is a plus
Computer literate, with working knowledge of word processing, business software and spreadsheet applications
Excellent communication skills
Good organizational and time management skills to insure scheduled deadlines are met
Professional appearance and personality
