Position Summary The School of Music and Dance (SOMD) Graphic Designer and Multimedia Specialist (Specialist) serves as the primary print and digital designer for all SOMD projects, with a special emphasis on digital communications. The Specialist works closely with the Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing and SOMD Communications team in promoting events and academic departments to prospective and current students, parents, alumni, donors, and community members by creating visually impactful imagery. The Specialist produces communications with a view to creating cohesive and consistent messages utilizing visual communication and visual identity principles. This position also supports SOMD auxiliary programs such as Community Music Institute, Chamber Music at Beall, and the Grammy-winning Oregon Bach Festival. The Specialist is the principal artistic content creator and is responsible for generating several new original pieces of communications artwork throughout the year.
