Role and Responsibilities * Define and lead design strategies for high‑impact product initiatives in alignment with the product vision and business goals * Drive discovery of customer needs through research, usability testing, and direct engagement, ensuring insights guide product direction * Maintain and evolve OpenEye's design strategy for consistency, scalability, and usability, and alignment with business objectives * Oversee complex design projects from concept through launch, ensuring engineering‑ready deliverables meet quality standards before development or release * Mentor and develop junior Product Designers and coach the broader product team in design thinking and best practices * Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and QA to ensure alignment of customer needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility * Ensure feedback from stakeholders and users is integrated into design iterations and post‑launch improvements * Review UX changes for adherence to design standards and usability principles * Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to inspire innovation * Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field * 7+ years of professional experience in product design, including senior or higher leadership roles * Proven track record of leading end‑to‑end product design for complex software applications from concept through delivery * Strong portfolio showing designs that address validated customer problems and deliver measurable impact * Demonstrated experience directly leading customer discovery efforts, including research planning, usability testing, and firsthand engagement with end users * Deep understanding of user‑centered methodologies, usability principles, and accessibility standards * Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind design decisions * Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD Preferred Qualifications * Experience creating, maintaining, and scaling a design system for enterprise software or SaaS products * Experience working in the IP video recording, monitoring, business intelligence, security, home automation, or IoT space * Proven success influencing product direction and roadmap through design leadership and customer insights * Strong ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints in design decisions * Familiarity with modern software engineering tools and frameworks * Familiarity with AI-driven experience Please note that sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.
