Job Responsibilities
As a Silver Plating Operator, you will operate and maintain a manual silver plating machine. This is not a dunk tank system-hands-on work is required.
Key responsibilities include:
Loading parts into the machine
Using a wand applicator to apply silver plating manually
Removing, inspecting, and finishing parts after plating
Maintaining a clean and orderly workstation
Ensuring basic quality standards are met during the process
Qualifications
6 months to 1 year of machine operation or industrial experience required
Paint booth or coating experience is a plus
No blueprint reading or micrometer use required
Must pass a 5-panel drug screen
No felony convictions within the past 7 years
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Comfortable lifting parts during manual operation
Visual acuity to monitor quality during the plating process
Work Environment
This role is based in a busy, fast-growing manufacturing environment where parts are custom-built and finished to exacting standards. The silver plating department is part of a larger facility producing high-end industrial enclosures for global companies.

Prepress Technician
Desktop operator job in Cincinnati, OH
The Prepress Technician position is responsible for processing and preparing files for print across a wide variety of products for our clients. Working closely with members of Vya's client engagement team and times directly with clients, the Prepress Technician will be responsible for playing an active role in troubleshooting, proofing and preparing customer-supplied files for production, and assist with digital press operation, etc.
While this is not a graphic design position, there may be times where the Prepress Technician will be tasked with basic layout or file re-creation as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Have an understanding of print processes and software, such as imposition, color management and ability to troubleshoot client files
Interface with a wide variety of personality types via phone, email and in person as is necessary
Ensures quality of final product before release
Maintain high level of knowledge and skill with all computer software related to the design and production of print materials
Provide support for internal and external clients, print file preparation, and archiving of files. Including but not limited to: brochures, direct mail pieces, print ads, signage, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of two years related experience, especially experience working in a print shop environment, graphic design, etc.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, QuarkXpress
Proficient on Microsoft Office applications required
Proficient on Macintosh Computers
Xerox VIPP knowledge a plus but not required
Helpful but not required to have some knowledge of preparing mail through Bulk Mailer/Lorton
Knowledge of Colors (CMYK Printing vs Pantones), types of Binding, Printer marks and bleed, etc.
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a timely fashion
Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
Strong and consistent attention to detail
Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task

About the Role:
As our Prepress Technician, you will:
Prepare and modify customer-supplied files for print production using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and related prepress software.
Perform file preflighting, color management, and proofing to ensure accuracy and quality before production.
RIP and plot files for proofing and final output, ensuring correct color profiles and resolution.
Coordinate with outside vendors for the creation of stamping dies, embossing dies, and other production needs.
Collaborate closely with the Prepress Manager, designers, and production teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
Conduct preflight checks, step-and-repeat layouts, and imposition for flexographic and offset printing.
Manage file archiving, retrieval, and version control using company software.
Troubleshoot and resolve design or technical issues quickly and effectively.
About You:
You're a fit for the role of Prepress Technician, if your background includes:
3-5 years of experience in prepress or printing operations (folding cartons or labels preferred).
Proficiency in Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and RIP/imposition software.
Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or Packaging Design preferred.
Strong understanding of color management, resolution, and print production standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of Solar Soft/CRC or similar production systems a plus.
