Hohl Industrial Services is currently seeking a Structural Detailer to assist our Fabrication team in the daily activities of the detailing department to create shop fabrication & erection drawings in accordance with contract requirements. Relocation support may be available for the right candidate and will be provided as a limited relocation reimbursement to help offset eligible moving expenses. Responsibilities: * Using a 3D drafting software (Tekla Structures), develops Assembly or layout drawings for large structural steel projects for approval. * Communicate with the Project Manager during the development of the approval drawing to ensure customers' objectives are being met with the proposed design. * Submits Request for Information (RFI's) to the Project Manager for resolution when required. * Responsible on a functional level to the Project Manager responsible for the project to whom he/she is currently assigned. * Receives directions from the Project Manager as to the overall technical requirements and scope of each project. * Conducts field measurement of existing equipment and building details where required to interface or interconnect with the new equipment or structure, with assistance of field personnel where required. * Communicates and attends meetings with the customer, as required for clarity of direction in meeting the customer's project objectives. * Revises approval drawings as required by customer's comments, with approval of the Project Manager. * Upon return of approval drawings to Hohl Industrial, develops all mechanical, structural, pneumatic, hydraulic, and piping details necessary for completion of the shop drawings, using standard Hohl formats for mechanical equipment and structural steel, AWS weld symbols, ANSI pneumatic and hydraulic symbols, or the customer's standard formats as directed by the Project Manager. * Issues cutting lists and drawings to the Shop Foreman, with approval of the Project Manager, using the appropriate Release Form. * Issues drawings to the Project Manager to be used by field personnel. * Answers questions from Shop Foremen, Shop employees and Hohl field Foremen and Field Project Managers regarding drawing issues. * Maintains a record of all drawings currently in the shop, marked-up to indicate as-built changes. Modifies drawings for prior to closing job. * Issues final steel erection and equipment drawings to the Project Manager for record. * Provides concept drawings for inclusion with quotations. * Complete design, detail and coordination responsibility for small shop fabrication jobs * All other duties assigned. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). * 3-5 years of experience using 3D drafting software. * Prefer experience with Tekla Structures. * 3-5 years of experience detailing structural steel. * Experience with AISC/AWS drawing and detailing standards. * Experience in producing shop and erection drawings for projects typical to the industry. * Completion of the AISC/NSID Steel Detailing Course is preferred, but not mandatory. * Knowledge of AISC Code of Standard Practice for Steel Building and Bridges preferred but not required. * Knowledge of AWS welding codes including D1.1, D1.5, D1.6, and D1.2. * Basic knowledge of NDE methods including MT, PT, UT, & RT. * Basic welding process knowledge FCAW, GMAW, GMAW-S, SAW, & SMAW. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications. * Eagerness to learn and grow within the industrial construction sector. Hohl Industrial Services is currently seeking a Structural Detailer to assist our Fabrication team in the daily activities of the detailing department to create shop fabrication & erection drawings in accordance with contract requirements. Relocation support may be available for the right candidate and will be provided as a limited relocation reimbursement to help offset eligible moving expenses. Responsibilities: Using a 3D drafting software (Tekla Structures), develops Assembly or layout drawings for large structural steel projects for approval. Communicate with the Project Manager during the development of the approval drawing to ensure customers' objectives are being met with the proposed design. Submits Request for Information (RFI's) to the Project Manager for resolution when required. Responsible on a functional level to the Project Manager responsible for the project to whom he/she is currently assigned. Receives directions from the Project Manager as to the overall technical requirements and scope of each project. Conducts field measurement of existing equipment and building details where required to interface or interconnect with the new equipment or structure, with assistance of field personnel where required. Communicates and attends meetings with the customer, as required for clarity of direction in meeting the customer's project objectives. Revises approval drawings as required by customer's comments, with approval of the Project Manager. Upon return of approval drawings to Hohl Industrial, develops all mechanical, structural, pneumatic, hydraulic, and piping details necessary for completion of the shop drawings, using standard Hohl formats for mechanical equipment and structural steel, AWS weld symbols, ANSI pneumatic and hydraulic symbols, or the customer's standard formats as directed by the Project Manager. Issues cutting lists and drawings to the Shop Foreman, with approval of the Project Manager, using the appropriate Release Form. Issues drawings to the Project Manager to be used by field personnel. Answers questions from Shop Foremen, Shop employees and Hohl field Foremen and Field Project Managers regarding drawing issues. Maintains a record of all drawings currently in the shop, marked-up to indicate as-built changes. Modifies drawings for prior to closing job. Issues final steel erection and equipment drawings to the Project Manager for record. Provides concept drawings for inclusion with quotations. Complete design, detail and coordination responsibility for small shop fabrication jobs All other duties assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). 3-5 years of experience using 3D drafting software. Prefer experience with Tekla Structures. 3-5 years of experience detailing structural steel. Experience with AISC/AWS drawing and detailing standards. Experience in producing shop and erection drawings for projects typical to the industry. Completion of the AISC/NSID Steel Detailing Course is preferred, but not mandatory. Knowledge of AISC Code of Standard Practice for Steel Building and Bridges preferred but not required. Knowledge of AWS welding codes including D1.1, D1.5, D1.6, and D1.2. Basic knowledge of NDE methods including MT, PT, UT, & RT. Basic welding process knowledge FCAW, GMAW, GMAW-S, SAW, & SMAW. Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications. Eagerness to learn and grow within the industrial construction sector.
