The Detailer is responsible for preparing vehicles for the repair process by pre-washing vehicles, detailing and performing final washing prior to delivering the customer vehicle. Additional duties include keeping the shop clean and safe. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs pre-wash on vehicles. * Details and cleans vehicles for customer delivery. * Vacuum and clean the interior of each vehicle, including all windows. * Complete pre-APS (Advanced Process Solutions) and final vehicle inspection sheets for each vehicle. * Visually inspect every vehicle for flaws in the repaired area(s) and report any issues to supervisor. * Helps with general maintenance of the facility, e.g., cleanliness, organization, etc. * May help buff out light scratches; install trim and cosmetic parts, etc. * Ports customer vehicles as needed for technicians and estimators. * Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury. * Attend daily release meetings. * Other duties as assigned. The Detailer is responsible for providing interior and exterior cleaning services that meet company expectations. This will include prepping a vehicle for repair as well as washing for delivery by removing all signs of repair. The detailer takes part in maintaining the organization and flow of the vehicles on the lot. Additional duties will also include assisting in the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility both inside and out and picking up parts and or customers as needed. Job Responsibilities: Clean vehicle interior and exterior, ensuring attention to detail and in compliance with Center Leader instruction and any courtesy requests have been completed. Operate buffer, vacuums, and other equipment if necessary to meet service expectations. Utilize cleaning, protective, and restorative agents appropriately to enhance the appearance of the vehicle ensuring no extra harm to the vehicle during the process. Respond effectively to Estimators and Center Leaders to report visible quality issues in final cleaning of vehicles or to meet specific requirements or production requests. Ensure production schedules are met in a timely manner. Ensure organization for shop supplies and equipment by utilizing dedicated spaces. Maintain supplies and materials necessary to clean vehicles, re-ordering efficiently through the Center Leader. Assist in the cleanliness of the shop by picking up trash and putting things back in place. Assist and be a team player in other areas as needed or requested for shop efficiency and productivity. These requests could include picking up or organizing parts, helping with front desk reception tasks, driving customers, scanning vehicles and minor buffing, and polishing vehicles. Key Performance Metrics Customer Service Index Score 95% for Vehicle Cleanliness Skills/Qualifications: Current and Valid Driver's License required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., stand, walk, bend, stoop for an extended period. Basic computer proficiency to be able to use company software and technology. Responsibilities: Interior Detailing: Thoroughly vacuum carpets, upholstery, and floor mats, removing all dirt, debris, and pet hair. Clean and condition leather seats, vinyl surfaces, and plastic trim using specialized products. Deodorize interiors to eliminate unpleasant smells. Clean and polish windows and interior glass surfaces. Dress tires and replenish tire shine. Exterior Detailing: Wash vehicles thoroughly using a two-bucket wash method and high-quality car wash soap to avoid scratches. Degrease wheels and wheel wells, removing grime and brake dust. Apply clay bars or polishing compounds to remove minor scratches and imperfections from the paintwork (in some detail shops). Hand-wax and buff the exterior for a deep shine and lasting protection. Clean and dress exterior trim like chrome, plastic, and rubber components. Additional Responsibilities: May perform headlight restoration to improve clarity and brightness expand more May offer additional services like carpet shampooing, stain removal, or paint touch-up (depending on the shop).
