Lead projects in the development and use of our BI software tools and systems.

This investment has enabled the department to more than triple in size over the last ten years to twenty seven faculty (19 tenure-track) and now awards 100+ undergraduate degrees and 20-30 MS/PhD degrees each year.
The undergraduate degree in Computer Science offers emphasis areas in Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Entrepreneurship, and Secondary Education, with enrollment averaging around 700 students. A new undergraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence Science was started in Fall 2025. An interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Computing program was started in 2016, with emphasis areas in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Computer Science, and Computational Math Science & Engineering. The PhD program has quickly grown to be the largest PhD program at Boise State with 80+ students, and faculty participation from a multitude of departments across campus. The College of Engineering and Department of Computer Science have a strong record of providing support and mentoring for early and mid-career faculty. Job Responsibilities Be a core member of the team creating leading edge attribution and analytics tools.Design and implement highly-available, fault-tolerant, real time, distributed systems.Balance a fast paced delivery schedule while ensuring quality and resilience.Maintenance, care, and optimization of legacy systems.Research, design, develop and test ingestion pipelines.Profiling and tuning CPU use, memory use, and I/O operations to optimize performance.Document new solutions and maintain existing documentation. Kochava began in 2011 when a team of mobile and gaming professionals saw the need to better understand the feedback loop of user acquisition, engagement, and LTV for mobile applications. Through the process of creating apps for customers from a wide range of industries, we were repeatedly asked if we could shed some light on what media advertising efforts were converting and the effectiveness of their mobile ad spend by partner. Realizing a solution to these questions wasn't readily available, we started designing and building a mobile measurement platform that would become Kochava.

As a part-time contract Shopify Developer, your role is to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of client-facing Shopify sites and assist in the upkeep of Launchpoint's internal marketing site. You'll work closely with our internal team and other contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, to spec, and with technical excellence.

Core Responsibilities
Shopify Development
Build, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Implement responsive layouts, custom features, and third-party app integrations
Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, ensuring cross-browser and device compatibility
Build and/or maintain 4-5 Shopify sites per month (depending on scope and size)
Maintenance & Internal Support
Conduct regular health checks and implement performance improvements
Maintain and iterate on Launchpoint's internal marketing site
Build internal tools such as dashboards, client portals, and automations
Maintain clean documentation and ensure SEO, tags, and pixels are implemented correctly
Project Scoping & Collaboration
Partner with designers, strategists, and project managers to scope and estimate new builds and features
Contribute to planning scalable, maintainable solutions
Flag risks early and recommend better approaches when needed
Execution & Self-Management
Manage your own technical timelines and deliverables
Use project management tools to track tasks and meet deadlines
Communicate regularly with the team about progress, blockers, and status
Nice-to-Have Skills
Ability to translate Figma or design files into clean, functional code
Familiarity with API integrations and handling dynamic response data
Understanding of user-centered thinking and frontend best practices
Comfort testing your own work before handoff
Bonus tech experience: TypeScript, Angular, NgRx, REST APIs, Bootstrap, Tailwind
