Here are some extra tips to keep in mind when you’re writing a cover letter for a software developer position:

  • Don’t rehash your resume. The purpose of your cover letter is to supplement your resume’s weaknesses, not simply copy it.

    This is especially important to keep in mind when it comes to technical jobs, as many candidates fail to see the value in creating a narrative of who they are as a professional, as opposed to just listing out technical skills and achievements.
