The **Business Development Director - Middle East** is responsible for the identification and business development of prospective UAS customers in the Middle East region. This position is responsible for the direction of all strategic and tactical efforts as they relate to supporting existing business as well as capturing new business in the region. This includes recommending potential partnerships, joint ventures and/or representations, substantiated by research and due diligence results in the specifics of each campaign, to include factors relating to geopolitics, government requirements, and customer operational demands, and familiarity with regional cultures and customs.
**Position Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for the Middle East major international market segments/regions with full responsibility for business strategy, capture plan development and execution, and progressive sales growth in alignment with AV strategic plans
+ Provides thought leadership and strategic guidance to the following areas:
+ Analyzes current and new markets, develop campaign / capture strategies to grow our business
+ Gathers pertinent information on market, customer structure, and the competition
+ Identifies funding sources and sales vehicles
+ Interfaces with local US Government teams
+ Identifies initial customers and technical/operational requirements including identifying influencers and key decision makers, determine 'price-to-win' and shape requirements towards AV products
+ Responsible for Sales Forecast and AOP planning, tracking and status reporting to Intl Market Segment Lead in support of global sales operations
+ Identifies and develops key "value-add" partnerships that support AV strategic international growth goals
+ Build and maintain trusted and solid relationships across the customer organization at all levels, while facilitating the same for others within AeroVironment
+ Identification and creation of new business opportunities, primarily government but may include civil
+ Strengthens the company's reputation within the customer organization
+ Utilizes new business processes and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool
+ Creates capture strategies and execution plans with compelling win strategies for ongoing and new business opportunities
+ Supports monthly forecast review presentations to leadership, as well as annual strategic planning efforts
+ Prioritizes investment decisions for review, based on customer requirements, and the pipeline
+ Identify funding sources, sales vehicles, influencers and decision-makers at prospective customers
+ Communicates regularly with management and work closely with PLM to provide feedback and recommendations substantiated by progressive knowledge of the customer and competitor landscapes.
+ Qualifies new leads and set up meetings to communicate customer requirements, campaign needs, and due diligence results
+ In conjunction with the Marketing, Flight Ops, Project Management, and Customer Support Departments, organizes and supports trade shows, flight demonstrations, training, and customer service visits

+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline; Advanced degree is preferred
+ Minimum of 12 years of relevant Business Development experience. Prior relevant experience working with customers within the region and understanding customer requirements/needs/issues, with demonstrated success.
+ In-depth knowledge of geopolitics, regional and in-country operational needs relating to autonomous systems, both aerial and ground.
+ Extensive understanding of cultural and political attributes of countries in the area. Proficiency in Arabic language desired
+ Demonstrated experience in writing proposals and winning contracts
+ Strong track record of successful sales of autonomous systems to defense & security entities in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the UAE
+ Experienced in foreign material sales (FMS), direct commercial sales (DCS), export licensing requirements, FCPA regulations, and interfacing with pertinent foreign and US government channels in areas of operation

The salary range for this role is:

The base pay range for this position is $200,000.00 - 250,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. The Associate Director, Learning & Development - Solid Tumor Oncology will serve as a strategic partner to support training needs and priorities for the Medical Affairs (MA) organization in solid tumor.
This role will lead the design, development, delivery and measurement of learning experiences for in-house and field-based MA Oncology teams. Collaboration with internal partners to identify training needs and shape the clinical learning strategy, including onboarding, product and evidence launches, continuous learning initiatives, and ongoing knowledge reinforcement will be vital. This individual will also provide consultation to partners related to learning activities not sponsored by L&D.
The training developed in this role will prepare field-based Medical Science Liaisons to educate and conduct scientific exchanges with Healthcare Providers and Opinion Leaders, to support clinical research programs, and to provide internal clinical & scientific support.
This position will require subject-matter proficiency in Solid Tumor therapeutic area(s) including lung, bladder, prostate, head & neck and/or colorectal cancers.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish the L&D team as a strategic partner for the MA organization by building deep collaboration with team members across MA, anticipating and proactively responding to changes in medical strategy and shifts within the larger healthcare landscape
Support Solid Tumor Oncology MA initiatives (including but not limited to data releases, products launches, and professional development) by designing, developing and delivering instructionally-sound training programs for existing and emerging oncology products and disease states in alignment with the medical & field strategies
Serve as a strategic lead for vendor-developed learning projects from initial scoping through completion. Initiate contracting, coordinate medical content reviews with subject matter experts, provide feedback, and ensure high quality delivery of content to learners
Evaluate the impact of learning programs, technologies, and other modes of training on field and medical organizational initiatives. Adjust and adapt training programs accordingly.
Serve as an internal consultant for training activities not developed by L&D (e.g., pre-launch field preparation, launch meetings, OL expert series events, etc.) by sharing best practices & offering feedback related to designing breakout sessions, live & virtual facilitation technique, increasing audience engagement, etc.
Manage large projects and processes, consult on critical medical education strategies, and deliver targeted and differentiated training programs for medical professionals
Identify and evaluate innovative approaches to content design, development, and delivery, including new learning technologies and novel uses of existing technologies

The Director will help to shape Johnson & Johnson's scientific pipeline by optimizing for greater access when these therapies launch. This is a key role on SCG Value, Access, and Pricing (VAP) team which will integrate key capabilities in the early pipeline to shape success with Market Access (MA) customers in the U.S. market.
Given the increasing complexity of the Access environment, the advanced compounds in the Janssen pipeline and the active business development environment, there are critical decisions made early that shape commercial success of compounds. These disruptive innovations require rethinking of value articulation and new considerations on how therapies fit within systems of care.
This position will be a key member of the cross-functional U.S. Integrated Strategy Team (IST) which includes NP&BD, Medical, Brand, and Value & Evidence teams. Director will advise on all pipeline compounds, line extensions, and indication expansions from Discovery through Phase 3 development and label submission. You will integrate a Market Access perspective into key pipeline decisions to support optimal payer coverage and patient access for new pipeline products when in market.
Serve as a key member of U.S. Integrated Strategy Team and collaborate with Global teams for assigned TA to shape pipeline compound strategy and inform stage gate decisions
Generate insights to shape evidence strategy for the compound
Assess & advise clinical, economic, humanistic evidence strategy to shape early value proposition and commercial plans from an Access perspective
Model pricing & contracting to inform business planning & forecasts
Advise on Business Development opportunities from an Access perspective as they arise
Support transition to Commercial Launch teams (~18-24 mo. pre-launch)
Share expertise with peers in equivalent Access NP&BD roles in other Therapeutic Areas to optimize common ways of working

Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical product lifecycle from discovery to launch with a minimum of 8 years of combined relevant biopharma experience.

Deep understanding of the U.S. Market Access environment (e.g., U.S. Payer System, MA Marketing & Field Teams, Value Drivers by Channel or Segment, Pricing & Contracting, Trade & Distribution, Medical vs. Pharmacy Benefits, Reimbursement, Patient Access Services, etc.)
Experience leading diverse teams and working cross-functionally (e.g., with Medical Affairs, NP&BD, RWE, Clinical Teams, and V&E)
Ability to work independently & influence, as needed, with a collaborative leadership style; minimum of 2 years of prior Supervisory / Leadership experience or people management experience strongly preferred (e.g., with clinical and / or research teams)

The Sr. Director for Business Development position is responsible for strategically leading the planning and execution of all business development activities for AeroVironment, including the regional business development strategy, capture planning and capture execution for winning contracts in the region, while leading a team responsible for regional growth.
