Position Description:
Northwest Youth Corps' Leadership Development Program (LDP) offers leadership training for aspiring outdoor leaders interested in pursuing career pathways in conservation, land management, and the outdoor industry. The program integrates team-based work projects, education, and on-site vocational training into a curriculum that prioritizes leadership growth, and the development of conservation work skills. The LDP curriculum is based on experiential learning and centers on the real-world application of risk management, logistical needs, situational leadership, and group dynamics. Participants will develop technical skills working on conservation and recreation projects while developing the soft skills required to successfully lead groups in the outdoors. During the first six weeks of the Leadership Development Program, LDP members will work together as a crew. Guided by an experienced crew leader, they will complete project work while developing both their technical skills and leadership skills. LDP members will then transition to their leadership practicum to lead, manage, and supervise crews of youth ages 16-18 over two 5-week sessions. LDP Members will be responsible for completing a variety of hands-on, conservation-oriented projects on public and private lands alongside their crew and project partners.
Required Qualifications:
20+ years old
Current Driver's License and acceptable driving history for at least 3 years
Willingness and ability to frequently drive an NYC vehicle
Recreational/ professional outdoor experience, accustomed to living for periods of time without modern conveniences
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to lift and/or move 70 lbs., hike several miles, and be on foot for 8-10 hours per day
Positive mental attitude, flexibility, and commitment to success
Desire to learn and grow
Good judgment and decision-making skills

BENEFITS:
Compensation: Members receive a living allowance of $13,300 dispersed in pro-rated monthly increments, along with a $3,697.50 AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of the program which can be used for college tuition or loans. During the program activities, all meals, transportation, and camping locations will be provided at no cost to the members.
Training/Professional Development: LDP members gain industry-recognized credentials and skills that open career pathways to natural resource-related fields and beyond. Department Summary
Early Childhood CARES provides Early Intervention (EI) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) services to infants, toddlers, and preschool children in Lane County. Each year it serves over 1700 children who have developmental delays or disabilities. Established in 1992 as an outreach unit in the College of Education, it is funded by the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and is one of nine programs in Oregon delivering EI/ECSE services across the state.
All counties in Oregon have EI/ECSE programs that use software developed at Early Childhood CARES. Our primary application group, ec Web, is complex and includes robust case management, outcomes reporting, assessment tracking, forms processing including electronic signatures, immunization analysis, Medicaid billing record management, metrics, and reporting tools. There are over 2,600 users that work in ec Web to manage records for over 13,000 children actively receiving services, in addition to children who are in the referral and evaluation processes. The Parent Portal, an integrated software system that facilitates electronic form signing and document delivery, serves approximately 13,000 parents across the state.
Position Summary
The Web Applications Programmer position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of application programming for ec Web and the Parent Portal. The person in the position will interpret requirements, contribute to technical discussions, implement solutions, and communicate results to users and coworkers. They must diagnose assigned issues and address them through software fixes, updates, and addition of new functions and features. The Web Applications Programmer works closely with three other programmers with wide development responsibility and must be able to constructively collaborate with teammembers, contribute to the overall product design and development practices, mentor colleagues and be mentored.
EI/ECSE in Oregon is a dynamic and complex environment, so we use Agile-like programming methods for application development, which emphasize a close relationship with content experts and users, rapid adaptation, and constant attention to design and innovation. About RouteViews
The University of Oregon's RouteViews platform provides detailed public views of Internet routing data. It was originally conceived in 1995 as a tool for Internet operators to obtain real-time Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) information about the global routing system from the perspectives of several different backbones and locations around the Internet. BGP is a networking standard that helps connect and integrate autonomous network systems around the world that form the Internet. RouteViews data continuously archived since 1997 helps network operators and researchers identify and address issues related to routing stability, security, and performance of the global Internet. Network operators and researchers utilize RouteViews data to understand Internet routing, hijack attempts, peer visibility, and Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) status. The NSRC provides technical and operational management of the RouteViews BGP data collectors deployed around the world.
Position Summary
RouteViews is an important source of data for monitoring global BGP and routing infrastructure. The work is specialized and requires advanced level network engineering and data analytics skills to design, operate and maintain the global RouteViews research infrastructure. The research support activities require creativity and autonomy to complete tasks and achieve objectives in coordination with the NSRC team at the University of Oregon. Work activities include: 1) Help maintain RouteViews global research infrastructure; 2) Develop new tools and services for RouteViews; 3) Support work with industry partners and the research community to expand BGP data collection and ensure stability of the collector ecosystem; 4) Support and enable the research community focused on network measurement, data integrity, Internet routing security, and integrative research.
This role requires excellent communication skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently and handle non-routine situations. This role requires a collaborative team player committed to the successful execution of NSRC's activities for stable, reliable operation of the RouteViews ecosystem.
