Due to Devereux Georgia's history of success in treating victimized individuals, the state has chosen to use Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health for their newly approved treatment program. The 24-bed program is a Child Caring Institution (Group Home) for victimized youths between the ages of 12 and 17. Job Summary: + Instructs assigned clients through development of a structured classroom environment that will promote intellectual, emotional and social growth. + Plans and implements instructional programs for clients with emotional and behavioral disorders. + Plan and implement educational instruction and services in accordance with GA Dept of Education and as required by each student's Individual Education Program (IEP) + Devereux Ackerman Academy - Gwinnett follow the district and state curriculum. Teachers have access to Gwinnett County Public School's platform. + Number of students in class are based on Census. The facility has a capacity of 24 and students are grouped as described above. Currently, there are 17 students distributed between 2 class rotations. + We follow Gwinnett County curriculum and Georgia Standards of Excellence which are grade and subject specific. **Modified School Schedule:** Teachers follow a modified district calendar. Our teachers work additional days during Fall and Winter Breaks, as well as 15 days during May/June for Summer Enrichment.
