Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Device Engineer. A successful candidate will join the device/technology team within ADI's Advanced Development Group, responsible for process development and providing technology solutions for all business units within ADI. Primary responsibilities include Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) simulations, device experimentation, design and layout of test structures, and bench characterization and electrical testing. The engineer is also responsible for developing innovative device solutions to continue technology scaling and will be involved in development of new silicon processes.

The job may involve interaction with a multidisciplinary team of process integration, device characterization, modeling and circuit design engineers.

Job Description:

Minimum Qualifications:

* MS/PhD Electrical, Materials, Physics, or Chemistry. Course work or experience in semiconductor fabrication/processing and device physics is required
* Basic understanding of Bipolar, CMOS and DMOS devices
* Basic understanding of integrated circuit manufacturing steps and flow
* Strong analytical mind with problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Familiar with Synopsis/Centaurus TCAD tools
* Solid understanding of LDMOS power devices
* Experience with semiconductor parameter analyzer such as B1500 or HP4155
* Experience with Cadence

Hardware

+ You will have 5+ years working process experience on III-V optoelectronics devices

+ Strong device design, fab process and process integration experience for III-V optoelectronics devices such as VCSEL or edge-emitting lasers. Additional Silicon photonics device and process background is a plus

+ Deep knowledge about III-V laser devices including design, process, device physics, reliability and characterization.

+ Extensive hands-on high-volume experience on modern semiconductor process technologies for III-V and Silicon devices.

+ Demonstrated success with several products transferred from engineering development phase to high volume production

+ Excellent data analysis and enjoy finding solutions. Strong product engineering experience such as spec definition and yield analysis is a plus.

+ Ability to partner closely with others in a very multi-functional team environment

+ You will have proven experience in working well in a multi-functional environment, communicate well and strong team spirit.

**Description**

Core responsibilities: Work closely with internal R&D teams to design next-gen laser components and define engineering requirement specs. Establish the spec correlation between laser component level and module/system level Drive and work closely with laser component vendors to design robust process flow and develop the key process steps for next-generation laser products Drive and work closely with laser component vendors to improve the device performance and yield related to laser process during engineering development phase Lead the efforts to solve reliability and performance issues related to laser components observed on module/system level during engineering development phase by working closely with internal and external teams Review the laser device yield and performance data provided by vendors and provide approvals for engineering sample shipments Provide regular update to internal x-functional team about performance, yield and MP readiness of process for each engineering build Drive laser vendors to develop key process technologies that are beneficial to Apple internal laser device technology roadmap Exploring and developing new laser device technologies in Apple technology roadmap
