Uniswap Labs builds products that help millions of people access DeFi simply and securely - from the Uniswap Web App and Wallet to crypto infrastructure like the Uniswap Trading API, and Unichain. Uniswap Labs also contributes to the development of the Uniswap Protocol, which has processed over $2.9 trillion in volume across thousands of tokens on Ethereum and 12+ other chains. When you join Uniswap, you become part of a team that's reshaping the way value flows on the internet. As a Senior Release Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to build our release infrastructure from the ground up, transforming how we ship products to millions of users. This is a greenfield role where you'll solve complex technical challenges that directly impact our ability to deliver reliable, high-quality features across our web and mobile applications. Reporting to our Head of Platform Engineering, you'll be the architect of our release future.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and own the end-to-end release process for Uniswap's web and mobile applications, moving beyond our current manual processes to create scalable, automated systems.
Design and implement comprehensive CI/CD pipelines that enable safe, frequent releases while maintaining the quality bar our users expect.
Create release infrastructure from scratch, including automated testing frameworks, deployment orchestration, and rollback mechanisms for our consumer-facing products.
Establish quality gates and validation processes that catch issues before they reach production, dramatically improving our release confidence.
Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to understand release requirements and build solutions that accelerate feature delivery.
Implement sophisticated release strategies including feature flags, staged rollouts, and A/B testing infrastructure for our web and mobile platforms.
Build monitoring and observability into the release process, creating visibility into deployment health and automated alerting for issues.
Transform our release process from reactive to proactive, establishing practices that prevent problems rather than just responding to them.
Document and evangelize release processes, making it easy for any engineer to ship code safely and confidently.
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing release metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions that improve velocity without sacrificing quality.
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of software engineering experience with significant focus on release engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering for consumer applications.
Proven experience shipping and managing releases for high-traffic web and mobile applications at scale.
Deep expertise in building CI/CD pipelines from scratch (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, or similar).

Track record of improving release processes in fast-moving organizations with multiple deployment targets.
Understanding of quality control at scale - from automated testing strategies to progressive rollout techniques.
Ability to thrive in greenfield environments where you'll be building foundational systems.
Strong problem-solving skills with genuine excitement about tackling complex, unsexy problems that have massive impact.
Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and influence without authority.
Self-motivated with the ability to identify problems and drive solutions independently.
NICE TO HAVES
Experience with fintech applications or other highly regulated consumer products.
Knowledge of Web3/crypto ecosystem (interest in the space is important, deep expertise not required).
Experience with React Native or similar cross-platform mobile frameworks.
Background in implementing compliance and security requirements in release processes.
Experience building developer tools and improving engineering productivity metrics.
Familiarity with monorepo strategies and tooling.

About the Job:
LaunchDarkly is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to play a key role in building a new product line on the Release Monitoring team. You'll be part of the Release Observability pillar, which is focused on making every release safer, faster, and more reliable. Our mission is to redefine how software is released: automating release processes, measuring the real-time impact of feature rollouts, and simplifying debugging when things go wrong. From automated release pipelines to metrics monitoring, error tracking, and fully automated rollbacks, our work ensures every code change is measured, and the entire release process from rollout to issue mitigation is managed for maximum efficiency and reliability.
As a member of the Release Monitoring team, you'll be helping us harness the power of LaunchDarkly's Observability SDKs that power our customers' applications, and aggregate all the data to measure user impact, and use them to make smart decisions about releases.
If you're interested in building the systems that help software teams ship safely at scale, we'd love to work with you.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional partners (product, design, data science, and engineering) to architect and advance our observability products. Leverage your broad experience to facilitate strategic discussions that align technical solutions with business goals, ensuring the delivery of scalable and effective features.
Drive comprehensive end-to-end feature development, taking full ownership from proof of concept through to delivery. Ensure that each feature provides robust observability into system behavior and customer usage patterns post-launch, applying a deep understanding of both technical and user experience considerations to optimize feature performance and reliability.
Proactively identify opportunities for product and user experience improvements, leveraging data insights and feedback to propose innovative, well-reasoned solutions. Lead the implementation of these enhancements, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility, ensuring each change drives meaningful improvements in engagement and performance.
Provide expert mentorship and support to teammates, guiding them through complex challenges and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment. Your deep expertise will help accelerate their growth, elevate team standards, and enhance overall productivity and technical excellence.
Actively lead and contribute to code reviews, spec reviews, and architecture design, ensuring alignment with best practices, long-term scalability, and maintainability. Your experience will drive thorough and thoughtful evaluation of solutions, while providing constructive feedback that elevates the quality of the codebase.
Play a key role in advancing engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the technology organization. By identifying areas for improvement and implementing process innovations, you will shape a more efficient and effective development environment, empowering teams to deliver high-quality features faster.
Qualifications:
8+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a history of contributing to robust, well-architected systems.
Demonstrated experience working on scalable and reliable distributed systems, ideally in environments that support enterprise-grade requirements.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Go, Java, Rust, C++), with a willingness and ability to learn new technologies as needed.
Experience partnering with data scientists and familiarity building data products (experimentation, analytics, big data visualizations)
Experience building and consuming APIs, particularly in contexts that support system integration or workflow automation.
Good understanding of system design and domain modeling, with some exposure to building reusable components or internal tooling.
Familiarity with observability concepts such as metrics, tracing, structured logging, and debugging in distributed systems.
A collaborative engineer who takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly, and thrives in cross-functional teams.
Experience working directly with customers and understands how their work impacts business goals
Strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering impactful solutions
Demonstrated ability to write clean, well-documented, and testable code with a focus on maintainability and extensibility.
