Scope of Position: Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishment by performing the following duties. Responsibilities include: Reads Finished Product Load Tag, Shipper, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Fills requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production co-workers. Assembles customer orders and sometimes places orders on pallets or conveys orders to shipping department. Marks materials with identifying information. Opens bales, crates, and other containers. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Drives forklift to transport items within the plant. Loads finished product on trailers. Reports potential any potential safety hazards to supervisor immediately and complies with required health protocols. Handles incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, condition of shipments and compliance to customer's requirements. Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel. Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
