The Dialysis Home Therapies Nurse coordinates the administrative and clinical aspects of the home dialysis program, including home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatment options, and communicates with patients and support staff to ensure the highest standards of care.
Schedule: Fulltime, Monday through Friday, shifts starting at 8am; on call as needed
Compensation: Pay range from $32-$42 per hour, depending on nursing and dialysis experience

What You Can Expect:
Collaborate with medical team on patient care concerns, hospitalizations, discharges and/or modality changes, etc.
Coordinate home training sessions, clinic visits, patient care conferences, home visits and all clinical and educational activities to assure efficient and productive use of nursing hours and program facilities
Monitor patient supply ordering and usage while maintaining quality care
Communicate regularly regarding home program activities with interdisciplinary care team
Monitor ongoing patient care parameters
Perform all registered nurse functions and duties
Create and maintain appropriate record keeping, patient training and documentation in accordance with ESRD Network, regulatory agencies, DCI CQI program and the dialysis facility's policies and procedures

SUMMARY FUNCTION:
The In-house Organ Recovery Coordinator is responsible for providing support for organ donation activities within the assigned facility/facilities to maximize opportunities for organ donation. Provides consistency and promotes trust in the donation process by ensuring excellent donor evaluation, management, and organ yield. The In-house Organ Recovery Coordinator works with potential donor families, hospital personnel and transplant hospitals to facilitate efficient recovery of organs and tissues for transplantation. Extensive on-call services and flexibility are required. Significant daily presence in assigned hospital is required. This position collaborates with the medical, nursing and other departments as necessary in the planning, design, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of educational and quality assurance programs related to donation. This position assists with public education and outreach projects.

Performs daily responsibilities to meet the needs of potential donors, donors, donor families, potential donor families, hospital personnel, physicians, and the OPO. Provides rapid on-site response to referrals. Primary responsibilities will occur in the assigned facility where employed. Increased donor activity, staffing shortages, etc. will require assuming responsibilities outside the primary area.
Evaluates potential donors. Assesses potential donor families, obtains appropriate authorization for donation, conducts Medical/Social History interview, and assists donor families through identification of potential end of life decisions, attending family meetings and providing donation information as needed. Responsible for medical management of donors prior to recovery activities. Directs the placement of anatomical gifts as necessary. Provides transplant surgeons with information necessary to determine appropriate recipients. Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery of organs and perioperative management of the donor when necessary.
Coordinates organ placement/organ allocation with transplant programs and surgeons. Provides information necessary to determine medical suitability of organs for designated recipients in accordance with regulatory guidelines including CMS, UNOS, AOPO and company policy. Coordinates with tissue services, as appropriate, to facilitate tissue recovery.
Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management. Assists in arranging transportation for organ recovery teams. Coordinates surgical recovery/packaging and arranges transportation of organs for transplant and/or research. Possesses a working knowledge of pulsatile preservation. Manages all lab specimens for shipment and delivery to laboratories in accordance with established policies.
Provides support to Hospital Development Coordinator, in the assigned facility, to identify formal and informal leaders, assesses their respective roles, degree of influence and needs. Works collaboratively with these leaders and utilizes their expertise to improve and promote donation. Assists in policy and procedure development. Functions as an expert clinical resource for the hospital regarding organ and tissue donation.
Participates in decision-making programs and committees in the hospital that have an influence on organ donation, promoting donation and seeking opportunities for further collaboration. Facilitates the donation process.
Maintains high visibility by conducting rounds to all critical care units with medical teams and functioning as the designated resource within the hospital for all issues related to organ donation. Provides donor and referral follow-up to appropriate hospital staff one-on-one or by post-recovery conferences.
In partnership with the In-House Donation Specialist (when applicable), develops, provides and evaluates in-house training and in-service educational programs on all aspects of the donation process for hospital staff. Also, collects and reports donation outcome data to various levels of clinical and administrative hospital staff. Documents hospital activities, updates hospital plans, goals, and critical issues in a timely manner on a regular basis.

PHYSICAL TRAITS: Talks and listens to donor families, hospital personnel, and physicians. Visually assesses donors. Reads charts and documents information. Walks, stands, and sits. Lifts and carries containers up to 70 lbs. Drives to and from donor hospitals. Must be able to stand for more than eight hours a day. Requires the ability to work under stress with numerous interruptions, distractions, and changing priorities. Must have a valid driver's license and ready access to reliable transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: RN/PA or related health care degree or licensure. Or OPO experience commensurate with job requirements.
Experience: Minimum one to two years experience as a Donation Coordinator or Organ Recovery Coordinator.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver license required and ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements. May be required to use privately owned vehicle during the scope of company business.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of computers and basic data entry skills required.

Responsible for facilitating and/or conducting internal and external audits as dictated by the Master Audit Schedule for their respective region. Works with department managers and (Sr.) Director of Quality and Compliance to initiate quality improvement initiatives utilizing quality tools and methodology to test progress and monitor outcomes (PDSA).
Will monitor, review, and complete vendor or supplier qualifications required to ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting entities. Will recommend actions for vendors or suppliers that do not maintain compliance requirements or have a high complaint and/or deviation rates.
Will assist with validation activities for new equipment, re-qualification of existing equipment, software verification, etc. to include written validation protocols, written validation reports, and re-qualification or addendum reports when required.
Maintains all existing licensure or registrations for their respective region. Assists with new applications for licensure or registration (when applicable).

New Mexico Donor Services (NMDS) is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) within the state of New Mexico - and is a member of the DCI Donor Services family.
For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities.
DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Tennessee Donor Services Eye Bank.

Your Mission: As our Executive Director, you will be the driving force behind our strategic vision and operational excellence. You will lead a passionate team, engage with key stakeholders, and shape the future of our organization. Your leadership will be pivotal in achieving our ambitious goals and transforming lives.
Key responsibilities this position will perform include:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a forward-thinking strategic plan that aligns with our mission and maximizes impact. Direct the business through fundamental decision-making, evaluation of risk factors, and instrumental efficiency.
Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations with efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring our programs and initiatives run smoothly. Lead a team of up to 60 employees in all departments including External Affairs, Clinical Operations, Hospital Development, Quality, and Tissue Recovery. Direct the overall approach to optimize the recovery of transplantable organs.
Stakeholder Relations: Build and nurture relationships with donor families, partners, and community leaders to expand our network and resources. Direct marketing efforts through staff and meetings with key governmental, hospital, and community members to facilitate the mission of the organization.
Team Management: Inspire and lead a talented team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and growth. Interview, hire, and train staff. Build individual and team excellence - and recommend personnel policies, practices, and actions.
Financial Stewardship: Oversee budgeting financial management to ensure the organization's financial health and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have:
BS Degree in Health Administration
Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure
5 years OPO senior leadership experience

New Mexico Donor Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a board-certified Organ Recovery Surgeon to assist with the clinical, operational and research activities.
About New Mexico Donor Services: We are an exceptional team of professionals dedicated to saving and improving lives by connecting organ and tissue donations to the patients who need them. We strive to extend the reach of each generous donor's gift to those who are always profoundly grateful for them.
The candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Surgically recovers abdominal (liver, kidney, pancreas, and small bowel) organs for transplantation and research in donor hospitals throughout the service area.
Assumes on-call responsibilities as required to assure adequate coverage for donor activity and must be available to surgically recover organs at the specified time.
Supports compliance to CMS and UNOS regulations and AOPO standards and/or other medical/legal requirements.
Provides education and training to OPO staff and hospital personnel involved in the donation process.
Serves as an advisor between the organization and hospital staff when organ procurement is in progress.
The ideal candidate will have the following education and work experience qualifications:
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified in general surgery with a current licensure
5+ years of experience in organ recovery and transplantation, medical management of organ donors, and/or in critical care
Availability for weekdays and weekends of donor recovery call (number of call days to be determined)
Well-developed interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact with all management, supervisors, and staff. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
