The Dialysis Hospital Services Nurse (Acute RN) provides specialized dialysis, renal nursing care, and if contractually required, plasmapheresis treatments in our UPMD Passavant acute hemodialysis unit. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians. **PURPOSE** **AND** **SCOPE:** Functions as part of the dialysis health care team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with organization policies, procedures, and training and in compliance with regulations set forth by the corporation, state, and federal agencies. Responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines. Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment. **PURPOSE AND SCOPE:** Provides nutritional services for the facility's in-center and home patients as applicable in order to maximize the patient's nutritional status and improve clinical outcomes.
