The Dialysis Hospital Services Nurse (Acute RN) provides specialized dialysis, renal nursing care, and if contractually required, plasmapheresis treatments in our Tufts Medical Center acute hemodialysis unit. The Acute RN collaborates with hospital and outpatient care team members to ensure patients receive the safest care with the highest-quality outcomes. Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week @ two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts starting at 7am. Some positions are on call 24/7, and rotating call may be required at some locations. Additionally, 50% of your schedule will be allocated to the chronic unit. Collect samples of RO water and dialysate for microbiology testing according to protocol. Collect water samples for AAMI analysis testing according to protocol. Disinfection of central bicarbonate system and mixing tank according to protocol. Disinfection of RO, distribution system, and hemodialysis machines according to protocol. Perform duties at all times within limitations established by and in accordance with company policy and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Perform electrical safety on dialysis machines and related equipment. Be familiar with instruction manuals and operation for equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Be capable of starting up and shutting down facility's equipment if necessary. Maintain established preventative maintenance programs and required support documentation. How you'll change lives As a Registered Nurse (RN) at US Renal Care, you'll be an integral part of a cross-functional team, working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse and assisting and supervising Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to care for patients living with kidney disease. What you'll be doing Patient care. You'll work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include completing and documenting physical assessments before and after treatments and monitoring patients during treatment.
