November 18, 1998: Access Bank was listed on the Nigeria Stock Exchange

In March 2002, the Board of Directors appointed Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and Herbert Wigwe as Deputy Managing Director.

His exit was heralded with improved performance of the bank, which recorded a profit of N5.445 billion for the year 2005.

Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede was appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and Herbert Wigwe, Deputy Managing Director, with a mandate to move the bank from 65th position to top 10 by 2007

Declared the ‘Best Clearing Bank in Oshogbo Clearing zone 2009’ (Oshogbo Branch) at the Maiden edition of Oshogbo CBN award night

He expanded the bank’s network from 210 branches in 2011 to over 265 branches three years later.

Access Bank has built its strength and success in corporate banking and is now applying that expertise to the personal and business banking platforms it acquired from Nigeria’s International Commercial bank in 2012.

International and locally in 2014, the bank was performing well.

In 2015, his first full year as head of the bank, the bank’s profit after tax went down from N28.36b to N5.656b.

It has obtained a CBN “No Objection” for a Rights Issue of up to NGN75 billion (~US$207 million) to be launched in H1 2019, which will ensure that it continues to maintain a strong capital buffer above the minimum requirements.
