1999

In 1999, the company outgrew its Meta plant, and another plant was opened in Lathrop, California.

2003

Then, in 2003, the company expanded again, this time opening a plant in Gaston, South Carolina.

2005

December 2005 – Six different Diamond formulations made in the South Carolina plant with Best By dates ranging from Mar.

2007

1, 2007 to June 11, 2007 were recalled due to a possible aflatoxin contamination.

2012

In April/May 2012, a large recall event (there were several expansions of the original recall) involved Diamond and Diamond Naturals, plus several other brands.

2013

Announcement: FDA report dated March 10, 2013 (archived here). What was recalled: 6 oz. samples and 6 lb. bags of Diamond Naturals Kitten Formula with Production Code #MKT0901 and “best by” date of Sep.
