1963

American Bandstand appeared as a weekly one-hour taped show that ran on Saturday mornings from 1963-87.

1964

Clark has also appeared onscreen playing himself in film and television cameos, as well as original performances in two episodes of the 1964 series Burke’s Law and, around the same time, an episode of Perry Mason.

1972

In 1972, dick clark productions entered the field of prime-time television programming, producing the first "American Music Awards" program of many to follow.

1974

Clark created The American Music Awards in 1974 and has produced the show ever since.

1978

Six years later, in 1978, the company signed a multi-million dollar development and production agreement with NBC. The contract represented one of the largest ever signed at the time, and gave dick clark productions the mandate to produce movies, specials, and series for television.

1982

1985

As a producer and founder of Dick Clark Productions, he provided 170 television programming hours a week by 1985.

He also tried his hand, somewhat unsuccessfully, at full-length, full-screen motion pictures with a 1985 release of the $4 million, four-year production of Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.

1987

Hoping to gain "a little more ability to spend money on more people and develop more projects," Clark took his company public in January 1987, offering dick clark productions common stock in an initial public offering that collected roughly $8 million.

1988

1992

The first unit opened in 1992 in Overland Park, Kansas, followed by a dance-club version that opened its doors in Reno, Nevada.

1993

In 1993, Unistar’s merger with Infinity Broadcasting gave the company upward of 3,000 affiliates.

1995

In 1995, Dick Clark's dick clark productions generated $46.6 million in sales.

Two years later, another two units were opened, one in Columbus, Ohio, and another in Indianapolis, with the fifth unit in Cincinnati greeting the expected public in early 1995.
