Since achieving full university status in 1987, Dickinson State
University has made a goal of becoming one of the premier postsecondary
institutions in the Great Plains. With a progressive mindset, numerous
academic opportunities, and an enriching student life, it seems that DSU
is well on its way toward this goal. The university is comprised of two colleges: the College of Education,
Business, and Applied Sciences, and the College of Arts and Sciences.
These colleges combine for about a dozen academic departments and over 75
concentrations. Though there are many subjects to choose from, many DSU
students concentrate in education and agriculture. In line with its progressive attitude, Dickinson State embraces
multiculturalism in its student body. The Cultural Diversity Tuition
Waver allows students of historically underrepresented ethnicities to get
a significant discount, up to full tuition. Similarly, the Global
Awareness Tuition Waiver assists international students with tuition
fees. DSU's Strom Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation works to promote
local business growth. Website creation, marketing plans and research,
and project management are among the services that the Strom Center
offers. The Center helps to stimulate the local economy, and connects
