Major Duties and Responsibilities
· Support equipment / die downtime in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
· Develop and support die maintenance and improvement projects.
· Support weekend and shutdown die issues.
· Support training of other die associates.
· Support of the engineering group in short / long term projects.
· Support machine checks, preventative maintenance duties, line troubleshooting and reporting of problems and repairs
· Utilizes hand tools, power tools, and hoists/cranes to repair and maintain dies and associated equipment.
· Utilizes calipers, micrometers and other gauges to evaluate production components.
· May be trained and assigned to operate a forklift.
· Keeps work area clean of debris and safety hazards.

· Respond to die downtime and recovery issues.

NCW is looking for skilled Die Maintenance Technicians for 2nd and 3rd shift job opportunities in Richmond, IN. You will be tasked with troubleshooting die cast dies that are not functioning as designed, making minor corrections to dies that are not making a part to print (replacing a core, date codes or ejector pins, etc.), disassemble and assemble casting dies performing routine and preventative scheduled maintenance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
:
- Troubleshoot dies that not working
- Make repairs to die while it is on a die-cast machine
- Create maintenance work requisitions for repairs to die maintenance equipment, die related issues such as hydraulic cylinder fixes, electrical work, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints (Product Drawings, Die-Cast and Trim Die prints
- Rebuild equipment as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints (Electrical & Hydraulics or Die-Cast and Trim Die)
- Use measuring tools (Micrometers, Depth Micrometer, Dial Indicators, Calipers, etc.)
- Use Auto-Vue to view designs
- Setting limit switches and final fitting slide(s) and slide locks
- Operate ejector pin grinder, hydraulic cavity extraction equipment, and hydraulic power unit used for final inspection of hydraulic cylinder setups
- Adhere to all company safety and operating procedures and policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED

- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in die-cast or equivalent trade
- Knowledgeable of die casting and how a casting die operates
