JOB SUMMARY:
Provide accurate and timely setting of progressive and/or transfer dies into power presses to process finished goods that meet or exceed customer specifications. Direct press team to assist with tasks associated with die setting to make this task as efficient as possible.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Inspect all dies before setup to ensure no foreign debris is on the top or bottom of the die.
Remove, install, and align and progressive and/or transfer dies and material coils in mechanical power press according to specifications / instructions.
Adjust ram stroke to specified length.
Ensure 1st off pieces are disposed of properly in red buckets and that finished goods containers are not able to have suspect parts go into them (conveyor diversion, etc.).
Start presses to produce finished goods and observe operations to detect malfunctions and to verify press set-up conforms to specifications and to obtain 1st piece sample(s).
Review 1st piece samples visually for defects and then use check fixture to confirm 1st pieces are ready for quality approval.
Call Quality Auditor for 1st piece verification and review findings with auditor.
Inspect equipment, dies or materials to help troubleshoot and identify the cause of errors, other problems or defects.
Complete the necessary paperwork/Plex requirements.
May be required to operate a press when necessary.
Provide proper training to any and all team members who are assigned to Large Press Area.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
Requirements
A high school education or equivalent with one (1) year minimum experience in die-setting or related technical field, preferably in a metal stamping environment.
Read, interpret and comprehend safety, operating and maintenance documents and procedures.
Ability to pass mechanical aptitude test.
Ability to operate power press.
Ability to pass diesetter training program.
Ability to obtain/retain an Industrial Powered Lift Truck certification.
Ability to obtain/retain an Overhead Crane certification.
Ability to obtain/retain a Lock out/Tag out Authorization certification.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to ensure delivery requirements.

**Responsibilities**
We work 12 hour shifts, we have day and night shift available. You work 4 days one week, 3 days one week. We get paid every two weeks so a standard pay check would be 76 hours straight time and 8 hours over-time.
Day shift is 6:00am to 6:30pm
Night shift is 6:00pm to 6:30am
2 week schedule example (Week 1 Work: Monday, Tuesday, Friday Saturday Week 2 Work: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday)
+ Adheres to safe work practices, policies, and procedures. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately.
+ Operates equipment to maintain regulatory standards and compliance at all times.
+ Mix batches of product in accordance with batching and kitting instructions.
+ Responsible for accurately weighting of all ingredients to ensure consistent batching of products.
+ Responsible for cleaning and production set up of the mixing room including assembly and disassembly of all piping and pumps in the mixing room.
+ Responsible for selecting the correct production formulation in the formula editor to match production schedule.
+ Ensure accuracy and quality of the individual batches to be mixed and transferred to the proper holding tank.
+ Maintains active communication with other departments to ensure an efficient operation.
+ Record appropriate information on batch sheets to meet Quality Assurance and regulatory compliance.
+ Utilize scales and meters as needed to get as precise and accurate readings as possible.
+ Have general knowledge of the Clean in Place (CIP) system.
+ Proper equipment cleaning through use of Clean Out of Place (C.O.P.) tank.
+ Operate motorized material handling equipment.
+ Manage inventory consumptions or creation in inventory management system.
