Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
Performs preventative maintenance, conducts inspections, troubleshoots, diagnoses failures & deficiencies & performs necessary corrections. This includes conducting offsite road repairs/service calls.
Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated.
Assures unit has daily maintenance duties performed and communicates any problems or issues with the unit immediately upon discovery
Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for tracking PM schedules.
Conducts Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections in accordance with provincial & federal laws.
Assures that Equipment is properly parked in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
Performs other assignments as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Field Mechanic A position is a journey-level professional mechanic with a solid knowledge and background in a wide variety of skills. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain, erect, repair, and troubleshoot rides and attractions, following Manufacturer and Engineering specifications to ensure their safe and efficient operation with minimum supervision.

The Sanitation Districts clean the wastewater of over 5 million people and turn it into resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Through the operation of 11 wastewater treatment facilities, approximately 510 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater are treated at these facilities and 165 MGD are available for reuse. All of the water reclamation plants are strategically located throughout the County to maximize water reuse and to easily return the cleaned water to local waterways, storage reservoirs, or the Pacific Ocean.
We are now recruiting for a skilled Wastewater Treatment System Mechanic at our San Jose Creek Water Reclamation Plant. The essential functions of this position are to perform more skilled preventive repair and maintenance of stationary equipment and machinery in a wastewater treatment facility. Specialized mechanical machinery used includes, but is not limited to: turbines, boilers, stationary and mobile engines, blowers, various types of pumps such as gear, vane, centrifugal, vertical turbine, centrifugal and reciprocating air compressors, various types of gear boxes, and hydraulic systems.
Working hours are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. After hour, overtime, and weekend callbacks will sometimes be required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A crane certification from the State of California is also required. In addition, the selected candidate must be medically cleared to wear a respiratory protection device and be able to pass a pulmonary function test annually. Job Conditions
This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, and scrap as would be found throughout the scrap yard. Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, and face shields must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards. Travel is not required for this position.
Handling multiple issues regarding safety and maintenance increases pressure. Work load may be unpredictable and pressure can be substantial during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable adaptability. Disturbances of work flow and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

Performing on-going preventive maintenance inspections.
