Mechanical Engineer

Representative Functions
* Diagnoses, examines, and investigates vehicles to determine causes of defective operation of engines, transmissions, differential units, generators, starters, pumps, air suspension systems, pneumatic systems, passenger lift assemblies, radiators, injectors, clutches, air conditioning systems, and other vehicle components.
* Determines proper course of action to facilitate vehicle repair, maintenance, adjustment, and component replacement.
* Maintains, adjusts, and/or repairs all bus systems, components, and parts including hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, front ends, and air conditioning systems to ensure the operational fitness of coaches.
* Performs major overhauls, major tune-ups, and repair to brakes and steering systems.
* Performs preventative maintenance and repair of all brands of passenger lifts on coaches.
* Changes windows and seats, and performs minor body repair.
* Operates buses in order to diagnose component failure, make roadside repairs, or move disabled buses.
* Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, hydraulic lifts, hoists and jacks, brake lathes, and tugs used for pulling disabled buses.
* Documents all work performed including record of repairs on driver's defect cards; submits daily lift status reports to supervisor and dispatch; records all repairs logs; and prepares and submits weekly reports to supervisor.
* Communicates, and consults with District staff from Transportation, Maintenance, and Materials.
* Performs related duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Training: Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade, plus EITHERsuccessful completion of all eight (8) levels of the District's state certified four (4) year Apprentice Training program, as determined by assessment at each level;ORverified completion of an external two (2) year training program in automotive or heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair from an accredited trade or vocational school.
Experience:Successful completion of the District's Apprentice Training Program as specified above,OR four (4) years of recent and verifiable experience as a heavy equipment or automotive mechanic. An additional three (3) years experience as a Mechanic may be substituted for the post 12th grade portion of the educational requirement.

The Telecommunications Mechanic II will support Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) systems, switching platforms, VoIP infrastructure, and structured cabling systems, performing both corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with contract requirements.
**Responsibilities**
Essential functions will include:
+ **Installation & Repair** - Perform installation, relocation, and removal of copper and fiber optic cable, jacks, terminations, and equipment in compliance with OEM, TIA/EIA, NEC, and UFC 3-580-01 standards
+ **Switch & VoIP Support** - Assist in the operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of switching systems, CUCM/VoIP platforms, and voicemail servers to maintain mission availability.

Responsibilities:
Our Mechanics are responsible for repairing and refurbishing fusion equipment in a distribution plant by performing the following duties:
Diagnose, maintain and repair fusion equipment including; small diesel/gas engines, generators, electrical circuits and hydraulic systems
Perform quality inspections of rental fusion equipment prior to returning to service
Maintain records of service, repairs and scheduled maintenance of rental fusion equipment
Inspect and diagnose customer owned equipment to prepare repair quotes
Communicate with maintenance coordinator and service advisors on status of down equipment and customer repairs
Report machine defects, damages and malfunctions
Repair and Service fabrication shop equipment as needed
Prepare equipment for shipping
Previous experience with computers for order entry, parts ordering and email is a plus
Ability to utilize local vendors and/or vendor websites to locate required parts as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Base Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in maintenance or automotive repair preferred

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Reporting directly to the the local leader, your primary responsibility will be executing all processes and procedures related to that objective, namely:
* Conduct systematic inspection to vehicles and diagnose problems on vehicles' mechanical, electrical, heating, and water systems.
* Perform maintenance and repairs on campervans and motorhomes, including:
* Preventive and corrective maintenance
* Light bodywork repairs that involve spare parts replacement (lightbulbs, windows, side mirrors)
* Campervan spare parts substitution and repairs
* Campervan appliances troubleshooting and repairs
* Maintain and develop the relationships with external partners
* Coordinating the execution of vehicles' interventions with external suppliers and regional teams
* Maintain all vehicle information systems updated according to the established procedures
* Move campervans to and from local vendors, parking facilities or other depots
* Maintain depot equipment and spare parts organized and clean
* Maintain spare parts inventory systems updated at all times
* As part of the local team, you will also be part of the daily operations of the depot and will execute tasks related to that effect, namely:
* Preparation of vehicles and equipment for customers
* Assist with handling incoming reservations, welcoming guests and taking care of check-ins and check-outs
* Receive and collect shipments and supplies, organize them in storage area, register item consumption and new orders
* Maintain depot equipment, extras and consumables stored at the depot
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
* Education or certified training in mechanics, mechatronics technical or a similar program in the automotive industry
* At least 1+ years of experience with hands-on mechanical and electrical repairs - experience in campervans is a plus
* You must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree preferred
* Available to work weekends and holidays
* Valid Driver's License
* English proficiency, and good communication skills

Responsibilities
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required
B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
