The Head of Experience owns the full guest journey at Nando's. This leader ensures that every interaction across restaurants, digital platforms, delivery, and community touchpoints reflects the warmth, personality, and humanity of Nando's brand. They bring together Brand, Marketing, Operations, and MarTech to create experiences that feel personal, consistent, and memorable - driving repeat visits, deeper loyalty, and emotional connection.
This role is the connective tissue between what we say (brand), what guests feel (experience), and how the systems work (MarTech + digital ecosystem).

Key Responsibilities
Guest Journey & Experience Design
Design and continuously refine end-to-end guest journey maps across dine-in, takeaway, digital ordering, delivery platforms, loyalty experiences, and community engagement.
Translate the Spirit of Nando's into operational rituals and guest-facing moments that are teachable, scalable, and heartfelt.
Support brand storytelling by bringing heritage, culture, art, and community purpose into the lived customer experience.
Operational Integration
Ensure platforms work/integrate to enrich a frictionless world experience for guests and team.
Partner tightly with Operations to embed CX standards that feel natural for restaurants to deliver (not scripted or corporate).
Develop and socialize experience scorecards tied to retention, repeat visits, brand love, and frontline ease of delivery.
Customer Insights & Loyalty
Lead customer insights: VOC, surveys, digital analytics, loyalty behavior, social listening, and frontline feedback loops.
Own loyalty program strategy and evolution, including personalization, segmentation, and engagement.
Digital & MarTech
Oversee CRM + lifecycle marketing, ensuring messages feel like real hospitality - never automated noise.
Manage the MarTech ecosystem (CRM, CDP, loyalty platform, analytics, digital ordering, app/web UX, delivery integrations), aligning tools to guest experience priorities.
Partner with Digital Product to ensure Nando's digital channels are warm, intuitive, and human-centered, not transactional.
Own the roadmap for platforms supporting guest experience: CRM, loyalty, CDP, marketing automation, guest analytics, app/web ordering, and third-party delivery integrations.
Ensures technology enhances human hospitality rather than replacing it.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across Set clear performance expectations and KPIs, regularly reviewing team progress and providing actionable feedback to drive results.
Serve as a cultural steward, modeling leadership behaviors that reinforce brand authenticity, guest-centricity, and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensures the proper mechanical operation, maintenance and repair of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems. Performs standard repairs of both electrical and plumbing systems.
* Operates and properly maintains low pressure (oil-fired or gas-fired) steam or hot water heating plant, its controls and auxiliaries; makes periodic temperature checks of areas in facility in order to maintain proper room temperature, calibrates thermostats as necessary and records temperature, in logbook.
* Cleans boiler as scheduled to include lubrication and care of electronic motors, compressors, and other mechanical equipment. Prepares heating plant for annual inspection by the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs.
* Operates and maintains air conditioning systems (chill water or direct expansion); tests for proper operation; traces and locates defects and makes necessary repairs; cleans and lubricates moving parts; tightens connections.
* Obtains needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools; ensures that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
* Frequently communicates with branch librarians to assess needs and resolve problems.
* Posts license or other notices at MLK and the branches as needed. Inspects daily conditions of the physical plant in these locations and makes appropriate repairs.
* Supports the leader and supervisors in fostering management goals, and efficiency and economic work operations.
* Participates with other staff in snow removal or to respond to emergency conditions.
* Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
A High School Diploma or equivalent in addition to a District of Columbia 3rd Class Engineers License and/or a DC Journeyman HVAC License in addition to a minimum of three (3) years of direct HVAC service experience and/or one year experience in working in the next lower grade level. Considerable experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of HVAC and related environmental control systems. The following is also required:
* Knowledge of and ability to safely operate and maintain a variety of low- pressure boilers and air-conditioning systems and auxiliary equipment to make visible, audible, and mechanical checks for proper operation.
* Knowledge of the refrigeration cycle of a variety of commercial and industrial systems to locate and check elements such as those which control low side and high side pressure, the temperature of the cooling units, liquid and suction lines, running time of the various mechanisms, and exploration of probable reasons for equipment failure.
* Skill in dismantling, repairing and reassembling units such as pumps, impellers, compressors, chillers, receivers, evaporators, thermostats, safety devices, and switches, etc.
* Knowledge of the principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration including refrigeration cycles, heat transfer laws, the use of refrigerant tables; airflow calculation, and pressure temperature characteristics for the different systems in order to locate and repair faulty equipment swiftly and to reduce inoperative time to a minimum.
* Knowledge of building fire and safety codes and OSHA regulations.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Ability to read, write, and interpret written instructions and procedures.
Residency Requirement

Working Conditions/Environment
Work is performed in facilities that have adequate lighting, air conditioning and heating however, is expected to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Exposure to danger of boiler bursts, poisoning from chemical fumes, escaping gases, as well as cuts and bruises from accidents while working. May be exposed to asbestos containing materials.
Physical Effort
The physical effort is great because the equipment in the system is large and must be maneuvered into and out of specific locations while dismantling and reassembling. Mechanics frequently carry and set up parts and equipment that weigh up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds). Hoists, holders, and pulleys are operated when removing units such as large compressors, condensers, and chillers. The incumbent makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding and platforms where the parts of systems work are frequently in hard‑to‑reach places. Therefore, stooping, stretching, bending, and kneeling are frequently required for longer periods of time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors safe and efficient operations of HVAC/refrigeration systems in accordance with departmental requirements; corrects deficiencies according to PM/CM and manufacturers specifications.
Conducts preventive and corrective maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration systems, as well as fan coil or dx units, and other equipment as assigned.

Track refrigerant loss, procurement, and storage per government standards.
Install, maintain and repair all field devices for the Temperature Tracking System.
Participate in the testing of HVAC shutdown by duct smoke detectors.
Performs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance on air conditioning units, fans, air handlers, water heaters, converters, duct work and system controls.
Request assistance from plumbers, painters, electricians, carpenters, and Building Engineers when necessary.
Coordinates inspections, repairs, and installation with staff and tenants in affected areas to minimize disruption of CNRIC operations.
Ensures compliance with department safety and quality standards to optimize effective utilization of resources and productivity.
Follow and implement standard Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
Complete Corrective Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Attends weekly Tool Box safety meetings
Obtain OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health certification. (EMCOR provided training)
Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance on air conditioning units, fans, air handlers, water heaters, converters, duct work and system controls.
Request assistance from plumbers, painters, electricians, carpenters, and Building Engineers when necessary.
Coordinates inspections, repairs, and installation with staff and tenants in affected areas to minimize disruption of CNRIC operations.
Ensures compliance with department safety and quality standards to optimize effective utilization of resources and productivity.
Follow and implement standard Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
Complete Corrective Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Attends weekly Tool Box safety meetings
Obtain OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health certification. (EMCOR provided training)
Qualifications:

Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule.
Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.
Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.
Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.
Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years' experience; or 7 years' experience in a related field

Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.

What You'll Do:

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Class I, II and III hydrant systems including other supporting equipment and appurtenances.
Maintain fuel storage tanks, including inspection reports of the operations for unusual circumstances to include pressure changes, leaks, corrosion, etc.
Support development of scopes of work for repair and modification Service Orders for Department of Defense (DoD) Fuel facilities as part of the USACE RMMR program. Review repair specifications of equipment or components being purchased or fabricated for repair and construction projects, to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and material specifications. Procure material required by repair or maintenance work.
Maintain records relating to maintenance. Document and report all activities in a centrally managed maintenance management system.
Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and military management personnel utilizing good judgment in recognizing scope of authority. Investigate and adjust customer complaints and concerns regarding fuel systems maintenance.
Maintain knowledge of military standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), EM-385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual, OSHA, EPA, and other industry standards.
Adhere to strictly enforced Health and Safety requirements with the highest quality standards expected.
Perform all other duties as prescribed by management.
What You'll Bring:
Two to five years of experience in liquid fuels maintenance or construction on various types of fuel systems that can include marine loading arms, bulk fuel facilities, hot pit fueling systems, gas station dispensing systems, cathodic protection systems, and leak detection systems. The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Heavily relied upon for advanced diagnostics and triage of complicated repairs by Mobile Diesel Technician I/II. Considered the Lead on jobsites by customers and Technicians. Functions as a consultant on the customer's behalf. A successful Sr Mobile Diesel Technician complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics.
DUTIES:
* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
* Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
* Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
* Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
* Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure that they are working properly.
* Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
* Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
* Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle.
* Work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance, resolving their problems, or satisfying their expectations.
* Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments as to prioritizing work related activities and time allocations.
* Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks.
* Document according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders ("RO") using company-issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT application.
* Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
* Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule.
* Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.
* Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.
* Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.
* Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
* Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years' experience; or 7 years' experience in a related field
* Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
* Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
* Obtain 608/609 certification within eighteen (18) months.
* This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
* A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in leu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
* Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
* Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required. Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license, be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.

As an Industrial Plant Field Service Mechanic, you will be dispatched across a territory using a fully equipped company service truck. Your mission is to proactively maintain and rapidly diagnose complex mechanical failures on Ready-Mix Plant equipment. You are not just fixing things; you are the primary technical expert responsible for maximizing production uptime.
What You'll Do:
Precision Rotating Equipment Service: Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and perform complex, precision repairs on screw conveyors, bucket elevators, mixer drums, and material pumps. Expertise includes bearing replacement, shaft alignment, belt/chain tensioning, and seal installation on rotating machinery.
Batch Plant System Repair: Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components integral to the batching process, including material gates, pneumatic actuators, air compressors, and various types of feeders and scales.
Heavy Component Rebuilds: Conduct scheduled maintenance and critical failure rebuilds on major processing equipment, including servicing agitator blades in mixers, replacing wear parts in screw conveyor troughs, and overhauling large water/slurry pumps.
Fabrication and Structural Repair: Independently perform heavy-duty field welding (SMAW and/or GMAW) to repair and reinforce structural components, including hoppers, silos, chutes, and plant framing, ensuring compliance with Vulcan's rigorous safety and quality standards.
Advanced Troubleshooting: Utilize hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to diagnose and repair control systems for flow gates, valves, and material delivery components. A basic understanding of electrical controls (LOTO procedures, motor diagnostics, sensor troubleshooting) is required to work seamlessly with our electrical teams.
Predictive Maintenance (PdM): Implement and document lubrication schedules, track component wear, and utilize systematic inspection techniques to anticipate and prevent equipment failures.
Safety Leadership: Proactively manage LOTO procedures and uphold OSHA and Vulcan safety standards as a non-negotiable priority on every job site.

This is a bargaining unit (union) position.
As a Journeyman Mechanic, you will:
Complete assigned maintenance and service duties; inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, repair and preventive maintenance of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
Troubleshoots and resolves HVAC mechanical problems.
Responds to service & warranty calls.
Inspect, diagnose, service and repair mechanical systems using a variety of tools and instruments.
Perform specified preventative maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment.
Perform prescribed non-destructive tests; collect and deliver samples for analysis
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC mechanical troubleshooting and service experience.
Valid driver's license
Good verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to obtain and maintain required government clearance and any other worksite specific badges. (This will involve a background/character, work experience, education, financial/credit and a criminal history records check). Active Department of Defense Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Chiller maintenance experience
Boiler and steam operational & service knowledge.
Experience working with HVAC Controls (PLC or Direct Digital Controls/DDC)
Mechanical Journeyman License
Experience punching tubes and/or reclaiming refrigerant

The incumbent in this role is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, installing and repairing equipment and components used for heating, and air conditioning (HVAC). In addition, performs skilled mechanical maintenance in refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities, preventative maintenance, and routine servicing of equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspects, repairs, modifies and installs HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air converter units, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves and capillary tubes. Conducts regular preventative maintenance inspections of refrigeration units and isolated heating ventilating units, which includes, but not limited to boilers, gas and electrically operated air conditioning equipment.
Reads troubleshoot repairs, and/or installs heating units and systems, including oil or gas-fired low- and high-pressure boiler, steam production or turbine and generator power plants, calibrates gauges, thermostats and thermometers. Installs, maintains and repairs steam traps, pressure-reducing valves, heat exchangers, and steam heating systems. Ensure hazardous materials and waste within the work area are handled or processed within operating guidelines, containers are sealed, properly dispose of hazardous materials or (waste) that are used at the worksite.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Monitors safe and efficient operations of HVAC/refrigeration systems in accordance with departmental requirements; corrects deficiencies according to PM/CM and manufacturers specifications.
+ Conducts preventive and corrective maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration systems, as well as fan coil or dx units, and other equipment as assigned.
+ Installs and services new HVAC/refrigeration equipment. Perform all aspects of repairs to Air Handling Units (AHU) to include filter replacement, bearing replacement, motor replacement, belt replacement and proper alignment in accordance to OEM procedures.
+ Coordinates inspections, repairs and installation in consultation with staff in affected areas to minimize disruption of operations.
+ Complete Work Order and Preventative Maintenance (PM) paperwork in a timely and professional manner. Participates in the computerized maintenance management system for work and equipment documentation
+ Participate in the building management system. Monitor design parameters for status and efficiency. Assist in programming recommendations for the system.
+ Track refrigerant loss, procurement, and storage per government standards.
+ Install, maintain and repair all field devices for the Temperature Tracking System.
+ Participate in the testing of HVAC shutdown by duct smoke detectors.
+ Performs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance on air conditioning units, fans, air handlers, water heaters, converters, duct work and system controls.
+ Request assistance from plumbers, painters, electricians, carpenters, and Building Engineers when necessary.
+ Coordinates inspections, repairs, and installation with staff and tenants in affected areas to minimize disruption of CNRIC operations.
+ Ensures compliance with department safety and quality standards to optimize effective utilization of resources and productivity.
+ Follow and implement standard Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
+ Complete Corrective Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders in a timely and professional manner.
+ Attends weekly Tool Box safety meetings
+ Obtain OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health certification. (EMCOR provided training)
