Through the operation of 11 wastewater treatment facilities, approximately 510 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater are treated at these facilities and 165 MGD are available for reuse. All of the water reclamation plants are strategically located throughout the County to maximize water reuse and to easily return the cleaned water to local waterways, storage reservoirs, or the Pacific Ocean. We are now recruiting for a skilled Wastewater Treatment System Mechanic at our San Jose Creek Water Reclamation Plant. The essential functions of this position are to perform more skilled preventive repair and maintenance of stationary equipment and machinery in a wastewater treatment facility. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour. Responsibilities Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership. Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs. Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
