Working conditions
* The working conditions include an indoor non-air-conditioned industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment. Subject to temperatures that range from 65 to 90 degrees in the general working environment and hotter in certain areas of the plant. Occasional outdoor activities in hot, cold, or adverse weather.
* Twenty-four hour working environment. Must be available and willing to work rotating shifts.

Since some of the service calls are because of incumbent's contacts or solicitations, the Field Service Mechanic is required to keep his supervisor informed of his activities and any change in his schedule. Servicemen are usually assigned to a territory but are called upon to assist in other areas as required. Some may not be attached, but “float” on special assignments or to fill in as needed.
This “Service after Sales” contact helps to enhance the company image and reputation in the field and directly affects repeat sales. He must show versatility and ingenuity to get the machinery operating in the least possible time. Customer satisfaction is the goal.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Consults with Service Supervisor to plan effective work and travel schedule, giving priority to customer need, considering location of machine and availability of parts.
Diagnoses malfunctions: repairs and/or replaces worn and defective parts; installs new assemblies, adjusts devices and controls - to correct malfunctions and to keep machines in operating condition.
Provides tools and parts and arranges for facilities to perform repair work (usually on customer premises).
Inspects, operates, and tests machines upon initial delivery, at specified inspection intervals and upon completion of any repair work to ensure proper functioning of equipment and its components.
Reports to Service Supervisor such information as name of customer, description of machine, nature of malfunction, the time involved in working, driving, and waiting, mileage, etc., so that proper accounts can be charged, and proper billing can be made.
Strives to increase technical skills through attendance at company-sponsored vocational schools, annual training meeting of departmental personnel and reading of technical literature.
Promotes and enhances the company image by maintaining a neat, personal appearance and by keeping the service truck in a clean, polished, and orderly condition.
Experienced or advanced servicemen are expected to serve as troubleshooters on recurring or unusual problems, conferring with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other service personnel to resolve.

Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

The Responsibilities
Diagnosis of failure and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, software, hydraulic, or pneumatic.
Monitors production metrics to implement a proactive approach to repair and maintenance to prevent unplanned down time.
Routinely monitors and adjusts the manufacturing equipment to achieve production goals and metrics. Supports production through planning maintenance and repairs in coordination with installation, setups and changeovers of equipment.
Initiates or updates required documentation including maintenance, repair logs, work orders in CMMS, shift reports per cGMP requirements.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service, maintains and orders spart parts inventory as required. Always acts accordingly following all OSHA and EH&S rules and regulations to prevent injury to self and others.
Maintains all tools and repair equipment in a neat and orderly fashion to minimize the time for repairs and maintenance.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of equipment is completed in a timely manner and documents are completed correctly and following cGMP requirements.
Assists engineers in qualifying new and modified equipment.

Assemble, repair, and test engine subcomponents to manufacturer specifications
Apply Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and overhaul manuals
Inspect and approve all parts before use
Validate outside vendor repair documentation
Use micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments for accuracy
Carry out compliance checks during assembly
Test engine function using approved equipment and methods
Diagnose and resolve issues during testing
Maintain complete and accurate build records
Provide support to Shop Foreman and management as needed
Minimum Requirements
4+ years of aircraft engine build/maintenance experience
Skilled diesel or motorcycle mechanics with precision assembly background considered
Knowledge of reciprocating aircraft engine theory and operation
Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and related tools
Solid math skills and strong attention to detail
Possession of personal hand tools
Ideal Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license

The Mechanic Apprentice performs basic maintenance, assists the Fleet Manager and the materials department with repairs, learns to use tools and diagnostic equipment, and gradually takes on more complex tasks under supervision to develop their skills and become a certified mechanic.
Strategic/Transformational Duties and Responsibilities
* Provides support to the Fleet Manager and the materials management department as necessary, which is essential for the success of TransCare and other services of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.
Transactional/Administrative Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in ensuring that all fleet vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, repaired, registered, licensed, tested, and, to the extent appropriate, operated in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as directed by immediate supervision.
* Assist Fleet Manager and Materials Management Staff with logistical support as assigned.
