Key Responsibilities:
Oversee exterior aircraft cleaning operations to ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, and company standards.
Perform lifting and lowering of aircraft wings as necessary during the cleaning process, ensuring proper procedures are followed to prevent structural damage.
Inspect aircraft before and after cleaning to ensure no damage, contamination, or safety concerns arise.
Ensure proper handling and application of approved cleaning solutions, detergents, and degreasers to protect aircraft surfaces and components.
Assist with minor maintenance tasks that may arise during the cleaning process, such as checking fasteners, seals, and access panels.
Collaborate with cleaning teams to provide guidance on safe cleaning practices, including protecting sensitive aircraft components (e.g., pitot tubes, static ports, avionics).
Perform post-cleaning inspections to verify all protective covers have been removed, no residue remains on critical areas, and aircraft is airworthy.
Document and report any issues, discrepancies, or maintenance concerns identified during inspections.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding waste disposal and chemical usage.
Train and mentor team members on best practices for aircraft cleaning and handling procedures.
Work closely with airline or operator maintenance teams to coordinate cleaning schedules and minimize aircraft downtime.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
Must sign or clock in/out at the beginning and end of the scheduled shift.
Proper uniform attire is required when reporting to work.
Safety measures must always be taken including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during assigned shifts and as part of the uniform.

Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification (Required).
Minimum 2 years of aircraft maintenance experience, preferably in commercial or corporate aviation.

Knowledge of FAA regulations related to aircraft maintenance and exterior cleaning practices.

Service vehicles according to established preventive maintenance schedule. Rotate and balance tires; change oil and filters; lubricate vehicle parts; inspect and replace hoses, belts, mirrors, lamps; and maintain all fluid levels.
Reports and consults with Lead Mechanic or Shop Supervisor on major repair problems.
Checks incoming and outgoing repair requests.
Checks and repairs electrical, heating, air conditioning and cooling systems.
Responds to breakdowns and/or accidents as quickly as possible. Determines if repairs are to be made on sight or attempt to move the bus to the terminal.
Remains on the job until it is completed. Responds to after hour emergencies and works irregular hours as needed.
Helps maintain the shop bays in a clean and orderly manner.
Records time spent, materials used and activities on Computer System (Dossier) as each task is completed.
Maintains accurate, updated records of preventive maintenance and is knowledgeable in all aspects of the PM computerized software.
Demonstrates process of preventive maintenance and visual inspections to Mechanic Helpers.
Operates buses and other vehicles as needed. Operates tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures and helps keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.
Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and reports any conditions that are not correctable to Lead Mechanic or Shop Supervisor immediately.
Maintains accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
Uses diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles.
Responsible for properly maintaining district records, adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department records.
Maintain an exemplary attendance record.
Performs other duties as assigned by Lead Mechanic and/or Shop Supervisor as required.
