Job Description:
Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems include diesel and gasoline. Automotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
* Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
* Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
* Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
* Operates standard and manual transmission
* Operates power and pneumatic tools
Requirements
* Must have an active driver's license issued by the state
* Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location's need.
* Must possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.
Knowledge and Skills
* Current documented automotive mechanical experience
* Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
* Possesses full complement of personal hand tools

RESPONSIBILITIES
Document and perform work as outlined on repair order following all dealership and factory standards.
Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil; replace oil and air filters.

What you'll do as an Mechanic I:
Perform preventative maintenance service on tractor and trailers.
Perform light repairs and minor electrical repairs.
Pressure test and diagnose coolant systems.
Check alignments and diagnose problems.
Drive or be trained to drive tractors and or tractor-trailer combinations.
Check and diagnose electrical systems.
Read preventative maintenance list and keep current on preventative maintenance due.
Perform light repairs on 'Driver write-ups' and 'fuel island' repairs.
Work Fuel Island as needed.
Clean shop areas as needed.
Maintain fleet tires.
Comply effectively with company work and safety rules.
Obtain a set of tools and tool storage within 3 months of date of hire.
Effectively communicate both written and orally with supervisor and peers.
Follow directions.
Work independently and in a team environment.
Be trained and certified to operate any required equipment within 30 days after hire.
Comply with company attendance policy.
Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the job. Must be available for shop on-call rotation, and able to do road calls using a company vehicle.
Qualifications you'll bring as a Mechanic I:
Have High School Diploma or GED. Tech School classes or equivalent training preferred.
Possess a Valid Class C Drivers License.
Have 2 years experience in preventative maintenance, minor repairs on tractor and trailers, some electrical diagnostics, light repairs, dismounting and mounting tire machine, use of tire bars, and use of tire gun.
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp and reach above the head for extended periods of time.
This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.

Komro Sales & Service, Inc. is seeking out a truck and trailer mechanic to perform accurate and thorough service, repairs, and maintenance on equipment.
Komro Sales & Services, Inc. is a privately owned company serving the Dairy and Agricultural Industry since 1960. We provide our customers with facility design and construction services which includes sales and service for irrigation; grain handling; manure handling; and constructing high tech manure separation systems nationwide. Roles & Responsibilities:
Interprets diagnostic test results accurately.
Preventive maintenance and repairs of all systems on company trucks and trailers to meet the standards set forth by the DOT.
Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and associated parts, and rear seals.
Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes.
Repair electrical and lighting systems
Document parts and time on each work order
Prepare new and used trucks and trailers for delivery.
Display a sense of urgency, professionalism and maintain an ownership mentality while performing required service for internal and external customers.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Perform mechanical duties with minimal supervision.
Assist Service Manager in coordinating and prioritizing service requests.
Maintain an orderly and clean work environment (shop floors, tools, job space, etc.)
Maintain constant communication with co-workers and supervisors in regard to daily tasks and completion status.
Qualifications:
Must have their own tools or ability to obtain their own tools.
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
CDL or ability to obtain one.
Technical certification or degree preferred but not required. Willing to train.
Experience/knowledge of electrical systems, diesel and gas engines, drivability, diagnostics, wiring schematics, and small engines.
Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces.
Ability to effectively prioritize and utilize time management skills.
Attention to detail and highly organized.
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment and accomplish work assignments with minimal supervision.
Capability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
