PRIMARY FUNCTIONS This is skilled mechanical work of the journeyman level in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel drives, heavy equipment, and construction equipment. Employees of this class are responsible for the performance of skilled tasks in repair work on trucks and passenger vehicles, and heavy equipment, such as payloaders, excavators, tractors, rollers, low-bed trailers, graders, refuse vehicles, and street sweepers. Assignments are given in the form of oral instructions or general written work orders from a supervisor.
