Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $38.43 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.

About this Role
Mechanic at Southern Electric Corporation shall possess the ability to operate/drive any truck, including tractor trailers in order to support all assigned work activity. Employee must have three (3) years' experience and possess a valid commercial driver's license.

Duties/Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
Perform annual/systematic 90 day inspections on equipment as required.
Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.
Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.
Be able to identify parts and supplies as needed.
Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
Use welding equipment.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Able to learn and demonstrate vehicle and equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Able to learn and demonstrate tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school preferred, but not required.
Experience diagnosing and repairing tractors and trailers.
Dynamic, ambitious and engaged team player.
