A diesel mechanic needs to be comfortable with computer technology and able to confidently use computer programs to perform diagnostic and precision repairs on diesel tractors. Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts. Specific Physical Requirements; Must be capable of lifting, holding, pulling or connecting tools, parts, hoses or other items that weigh up to 50 lbs for an amount of time required to complete an assigned tasks.. Must be capable of climbing up and down steps and ladders up to 150 a day. To include but not limited to trucks, trailers, frac tanks, containment walls, and ladders. Must be capable of working in adverse conditions such as but not limited too; uneven or slick walking and working surfaces, adverse weather, extreme heat, extreme cold, on the side of roads, oil well pads, remote yards, etc… All work related activities shall require the employee to wear “personal safety equipment” which shall include, but not be limited to the wearing of fire resistant clothing and safety hard hats. These additional items are essential for a safe operation of the tasks performed and the safety of the Employee. These items do however create additional heat, perspiration and fatigue to the Employee. The Employee is required to be able to tolerate extreme summer heat while wearing protective clothing that further intensifies the heat. Must be capable of getting up and down off the ground regularly to inspect equipment, vehicles, or in the event of a fall. Must be capable of working in tight places, where bending or twisting may be required for extended periods of time sufficient to complete an assigned task. Must be able to exert sufficient force to open and close valves, that may be difficult or stuck Must be capable of safely operating vehicles over rough terrain, poor road conditions, and slick or wet roads for to up 12 hours per day. Truck Tires - This position will require the handling, repair, changing or rotating of large industrial tire/wheel assemblies. These tire/wheel assemblies are extremely heavy (as much as 100 lbs. or more) and although it is not appropriate or advisable to carry them or lift them for any appreciable distance (as would be expected tires would be rolled), there will be times in the handling of truck tires that the wheel will need to be handled, managed and controlled as it is being removed from the truck and when it is being remounted on the truck. This part will require some heavy lifting. In addition, there will be times that the tire/wheel assemblies will need to be lifted onto a tire machine or work bench, with assistance. These activities may require the deadlifting of the tire off of the ground wherein the weigh has to be controlled and maintained. More importantly, the handling of truck tire/wheel assemblies will require the removal and remounting of the tire; an activity that requires managing and controlling the weight of an extremely awkward and heavy part while at the same time threading axel nuts to secure the tire/wheel assemble back onto the truck axel assembly. No part of this process is light work. It is demanding of every part of the human body. The Heavy Equipment - Preventive Maintenance (PM) Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance service on all types of trucks and/or equipment, including diesel and non-diesel, to maximize safe and productive operations. The primary purpose of the Heavy Equipment - PM Maintenance Technician is to focus on preventative maintenance and other mechanic type tasks and services. About Us: The beginning of Atzenhoffer began in the roaring 20's on May 1, 1926 in a small 2,100 square foot building in downtown Victoria. Edgar L "Ed" Atzenhoffer established the dealership at age 23 with only two employees. Ed had previous experience at a local Buick dealership. During these early days Atzenhoffer served as office manager, sales manager, clerk, bookkeeper, and even janitor. The young company grew quickly and delivered 396 new cars in less than 2 years. Building on this early success came a new one and a half story brick building that had its grand opening on January 2, 1928. During and after the great depression, Atzenhoffer continued to grow and serve Victoria, Texas and the surrounding area, including Corpus Christi, Beeville, El Campo, Rockport, Cuero, Hallettsville, Port Lavaca, Bay City, Seguin, Gonzales and more. Milton S. "Bully" Greeson, Ed Atzenhoffer's Son-in-law, joined the firm in 1951. He moved up through the company, serving as a body shop representative, service representative, new car salesman, and used car manager before buying a financial interest in the company in 1962. He became the dealer designate in 1965, six years before the passing of Ed Atzenhoffer in 1971. On August 24, 1963 Atzenhoffer opened a new 40,000 square foot facility on North Navarro Street that would eventually become the main thoroughfare through town. This location has expanded greatly over the years with the addition of the truck service facility in 1978, the Mitsubishi franchise in 1990, the Mazda franchise in 1997, a 20,000 square foot parts warehouse in 1999, and the Cadillac franchise in 2002. Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain surveillance of areas where hot work - welding or cutting with torches - has occurred. Welding and cutting both cause sparks and bits of molten metal to fly into the surrounding area. Maintains a lookout for small fires started by these sparks and bits of slag. Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced automotive technician to join our busy team. GM training and or ASE certification is a plus. About Us: The beginning of Atzenhoffer began in the roaring 20's on May 1, 1926 in a small 2,100 square foot building in downtown Victoria. Edgar L "Ed" Atzenhoffer established the dealership at age 23 with only two employees. Ed had previous experience at a local Buick dealership. During these early days Atzenhoffer served as office manager, sales manager, clerk, bookkeeper, and even janitor. The young company grew quickly and delivered 396 new cars in less than 2 years. Building on this early success came a new one and a half story brick building that had its grand opening on January 2, 1928. During and after the great depression, Atzenhoffer continued to grow and serve Victoria, Texas and the surrounding area, including Corpus Christi, Beeville, El Campo, Rockport, Cuero, Hallettsville, Port Lavaca, Bay City, Seguin, Gonzales and more. Milton S. "Bully" Greeson, Ed Atzenhoffer's Son-in-law, joined the firm in 1951. He moved up through the company, serving as a body shop representative, service representative, new car salesman, and used car manager before buying a financial interest in the company in 1962. He became the dealer designate in 1965, six years before the passing of Ed Atzenhoffer in 1971. On August 24, 1963 Atzenhoffer opened a new 40,000 square foot facility on North Navarro Street that would eventually become the main thoroughfare through town. This location has expanded greatly over the years with the addition of the truck service facility in 1978, the Mitsubishi franchise in 1990, the Mazda franchise in 1997, a 20,000 square foot parts warehouse in 1999, and the Cadillac franchise in 2002. A designated truck sales building designed for both retail and commercial truck sales was also built onto the property and opened in 2004. Milton S. Greeson Jr. joined the firm after graduation from the University of Texas in 1974. Even though Milton had worked at the dealership since before attending high school, he began work in all areas from service, body shop, sales manager and general manager after his graduation from college. Milton "Bully" Greeson died in 2000 and his son currently serves as dealer designate for all 4 franchises as well as president of the company. In September 2003, Tommy Greeson Taylor, great-grandson of Ed Atzenhoffer, joined the company after graduating from Texas Christian University. Like his family predecessors, Tommy has worked throughout the dealership in various departments and is currently the general manager. All in all, 4 generations have contributed to the success of this 88 year old company.
