Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment. Service and maintain aircraft systems by performing tasks, such as checking oil levels, fueling aircraft, greasing moving parts, checking tires and checking brakes. Perform calendar and hourly inspections and other collateral duties as assigned such as inventory control. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain all work areas in a clean and safe manner daily Maintain all equipment and tools provided by JKV Secure/ lock work areas as required to ensure safety of residents, visitors and staff Assist with creating supply orders as requested and to share information needed with manager to maintain adequate materials needed to complete assignments Solve and prevent problems by taking the initiative to communicate directly with trades/subcontractors when appropriate, and as directed by the Maintenance Manager Basic carpentry (door / window repair, picture/mirror hanging, etc). Basic plumbing repairs (faucets, commodes, water heaters, etc). Basic electrical (wiring, fixture replacement, etc). Perform Building inspections as required. Furniture/appliance moving. Operate motorized equipment (after proper training) Available to remain on property during emergencies (i.e. hurricanes). To contribute to a positive team environment Perform other duties as assigned. POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENTS (Competencies) Technical skills and Knowledge 3yrs + working experience as Maintenance Mechanic High school diploma or GED Able to lift up to 40lbs, climb ladders and squat Able to stand for up to 8 hours a day Able to work during all weather condition, possible in extreme heat indoors and outdoors Have 20/20 vision with corrective lenses Has a valid FL driver license Is proficient in use of hand and power tools necessary to complete assignments Interpersonal Skills Able to communicate effectively in English in a professional manner Able to read and write in English Ability to deal with difficult situations John Knox Village is proud to be a SAFE PLACE TO WORK!
