As a maintenance Mechanic I, you'll use your specialized expertise in conveyors, rolling stock, or building components to handle complex repairs in your area of focus. Solid experience in disassembly and reassembly of non-working equipment to like-new working conditions, followed by extensive safety and operational condition checks before distributed to the field
Ability to work as a team when working around the shop and field crews and assist other maintenance employees
Work will be in the shop or in field on rig and services equipment depending on work assignment
Complete proper paperwork as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; Certification from trade or technical school in maintenance or Diesel repair highly preferred
Five (5) years or more solid and proven work experience on oil field equipment or similar field with diesel engines and hydraulics
Valid state-issued driver license; Class A or B license is preferred - a plus
Strong and proven hydraulic knowledge
Must have heavy experience in maintenance and repair on very complex hydraulic systems and know the difference between open loop and closed loop hydraulic equipment systems
Prefer knowledge with laptop-based software for troubleshooting such as CAT Electronic Technician, CUMMINS INSIGHT, ALLLISON TRANS, MACK TECH TOOL, DETROIT DDEC, and MTU

This position has been deemed

JOB PURPOSE:
Perform as advanced level transit mechanic. Perform intermediate to advanced diagnosis and repair of University of Wyoming transit buses. Serve as diesel technician. Assist in all other repairs and preventative maintenance as needed to include diagnostics, electrical, transmissions, engines and rebuilds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair diesel and/or gas vehicles and equipment. Inspect vehicle components, parts, and accessories to ensure safe operation that is compliant with all DOT, FTA, and ADA regulations. Adhere to safety and preventative maintenance standards and procedures.
Perform intermediate to advanced vehicle/equipment maintenance and repairs to transit fleet to include Gillig, International buses, foreign and domestic vehicles, UTV and ATVs. Diagnose, maintain, test and repair fleet and/or vehicles to keep in optimum and safe conditions.
Read and interpret vehicle manuals and schematics to perform complex repairs/maintenance.
Repair and replace parts to resolve malfunctions; clean equipment/parts by washing with solvents, soaps and water or steam cleaning; perform preventive maintenance on equipment/parts to ensure work-life and efficiency. Operate and test-drive vehicles.
Oversee the maintenance and organization of tools, equipment, and shop area to ensure optimal functionality, availability and adherence to safety standards.
Compile and organize documentation, including repair and maintenance logs and parts lists, for submission to the supervisor to facilitate accurate entry into the work order management system.
Provide support to the supervisor by assisting with task assignments, work scheduling, parts procurement, and work order management. Assume supervisory responsibilities as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
Facilitate and manage communication with external service providers to ensure efficient coordination and resolution of service needs.

General Purpose
Duties include responsibility for safely and efficiently diagnosing and performing maintenance repairs on equipment used in a surface coal mining operation. Equipment may include: Caterpillar equipment (loaders, scrapers, track dozers, rubber-tired dozers, graders, haul trucks, etc.); LeTourneau loader, Hitachi backhoe; Marion draglines; conveyor and crushing systems; drills (Ingersoll Rand, DrilTech, Schroeder). All work will be performed in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements to keep the equipment at an acceptable availability and reliability for the mine to meet its budgeted goals in safety, cost, productivity and environmental commitments.
Requirements
* A high school diploma, GED or proof of equivalent.
* A minimum of three years of industrial equipment journeyman mechanical experience, or a combination of experience and education.
* Experience with Cummins and/or Caterpillar engines associated with surface coal mining equipment (see above) is preferred.
* Must successfully pass a written test.
* Must provide own tools.

Job Duties:
* Configure pipe systems blueprint and plan piping systems layouts.
* Ensure all steam, water, chemicals, or other liquids are turned off before working on the piping system.
* Precisely cut, bend, and weld metals such as carbon and stainless steel.
* Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials from pipes as needed.
* Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment.
* Thread, weld, solder piping together.
* Consult with job site management for hole placements in walls and bulkheads.
* Ensure pipe sizes, hangers, supports, and joint needs for accurate flow.
* Cut and alter the piping to ensure the correct sizes.
* Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems.
* Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes.
* Ironworkers are responsible for the layout, installation, assembly and steel erection components in accordance with blueprint plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
* Fabricates metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
* Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting; hoists steel beams, girders, or columns into place, using cranes or signaling hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural steel members.

Skills/Qualifications:
