What You'll Do Complete Interior Restyling: Remove factory cloth upholstery and expertly install Katzkin leather seat covers and headrests with showroom-level fit and finish. Luxury Upgrades: Install seat heating and cooling systems (Degreez), lumbar supports, and other comfort features as specified. Safety-First Craftsmanship: Precisely align side-impact airbag seams to ensure proper deployment and compliance with all safety standards. Quality Control: Deliver consistently high-quality work that meets both manufacturer specifications and customer expectations. What You Bring Hands-On Experience: Proven background in automotive upholstery or leather interior installations. Katzkin installation experience is a strong plus. Technical Skillset: Confident using hog ring pliers (manual and pneumatic), ticking tools, steamers, and other upholstery equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Drives and operates all types of automotive equipment, heavy-duty trucks and buses in operation to determine malfunction and repairs and maintains all types of automotive equipment. Inspects and tests equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction. Overhauls gas or diesel engines. Installs new ignition systems, aligns front wheels, changes or recharges batteries and replaces and rebuilds transmissions and other parts. Inspects, tests and aligns wheels and maintains electrical systems and controls in company vehicles. Examines protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices on vehicles, and makes adjustments. Balances wheels to minimize wear on tires and rotates wheels at prescribed mileage intervals. Tunes up engine to maintain combustion control standards. Adjusts equipment to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicles inspections and safety standards. Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired vehicles, trucks or buses to verify conformance to specifications. Uses hoist wrenches, gauges, drills or grinders, or other specialized auto mechanic tools and equipment. Continual on-the-job training will be required to successfully maintain classification level. Tests will cover all phases of mechanics. The testing will be administered and reviewed by the Transportation Manager or designated representative. Regular Attendance Required. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school and extensive mechanical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience that produces the following: Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job. Knowledge of PC and applicable software programs. Knowledge of electronics and their application in vehicles of all types. Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of light and heavy-duty automotive and related equipment. Knowledge of OBDII codes and their application.
