Due to growth, we are currently looking to hire DieselTechnicians for our Great Falls location.
Technicians must be able to:
Perform routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on various types of equipment, including but not limited to machinery, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems;
Carrying out necessary repairs and conducting more complex repairs to ensure proper functioning;
Troubleshooting and analyzing issues reported by drivers or operators, and providing effect solutions to address the problems;
Respond promptly to customer needs in a positive, supportive and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed;
Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed;
Complete service reports, order parts and maintain clear customer records;
Field Technicians will be going out to service calls.
Qualifications:
Two-year technical degree and/or equivalent job experience in any of the above fields.
Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems and components, pneumatic, electrical and fuel systems.
Previous experience working on Volvo equipment is a plus, but not required.
Excellent diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills.
Positive attitude and desire to provide outstanding customer service.
Computer, written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements
Qualifications:

Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems and components, pneumatic, electrical and fuel systems.
Previous experience working on Volvo equipment is a plus, but not required.
Excellent diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills.
Positive attitude and desire to provide outstanding customer service.
Computer, written and verbal communication skills.

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will provide maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of several types of mobile heavy equipment in locations in any of the following areas: earthwork, trucking, gravel crushing, excavation, grading, sewer & water utility lines, culverts and storm drain and heavy civil project throughout Montana.
Essential Functions:
Maintain, repair and troubleshoot problems on all road construction equipment and trucks. Includes rollers, loaders, water trucks, tractors/belly dump trailers, skid steers, scrapers, excavators, and dozers. Also, responsible for maintaining and working on smaller equipment and tools, including pickups, water pumps, plate compactors, etc.
General mechanical, engine & transmission troubleshooting, hydraulic, electrical, cutting & welding, minor fabrication, and an overall understanding of road building equipment.
Stock and organize assigned tool van with parts to meet the needs of the equipment on the project assigned.
Find mechanical failures and future preventive maintenance needs.
Work with and follow directions from supervisors.
Complete required maintenance documentation as directed by shop supervisor.
Able to work both independently and with other mechanics/employees.
Provide professional/technical advice to operators concerning issues with equipment operations.
Respond to and address nonfunctional equipment working after hours, as necessary.
Complete regular inspections.
Tune and configure equipment for optimal utilization and efficiency.
Check messages on a regular basis and respond accordingly.
Seek out and participate in appropriate training and conferences.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Competencies:
Class A Commercial driver's license with Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsement (preferred).
Prior heavy equipment mechanical experience (preferred).
Must have own tools.
Strong work ethic.
Ability to use modern electronic and computer-based trouble-shooting techniques is highly desirable.
Be willing to work in a team environment and aid co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Must require minimal supervision.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Willing to travel and work away from home.
Maintain a cheerful outlook.
Maintain and promote a clean and safe work environment and culture.
Willing to work overtime including weekends.
Ability to do basic math.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Work Demands & Environment:
Personal protective equipment is needed on a regular basis, including a hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, and as needed, steel-toed boots, respirator, protective clothing, gloves, and other protective equipment.
Employees will be required to work in outdoor environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, sit, shovel, sweep, rake, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms, possibly for extended periods.
Occasionally may be required to lift up to 75 pounds during the course of the workday.
