JOB PURPOSE: To ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all rides and attractions.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain, erect, repair and troubleshoot rides and attractions to insure their safe and efficient operation with minimum supervision.
To keep a ride parts inventory and notify the supervisor and A Mechanics of any parts or materials necessary to insure safe, continuous operation.
To direct, advise and/or work in conjunction with other staff solving ride-related problems.
To ensure that the ride is clean and visually in compliance with manufacturers specifications, guests and Darien Lake expectations.
To ensure that manufacturer specifications and state regulations are complied with and documented.
To inspect rides and attractions and notify the Rides A Mechanic, Ride Maintenance Supervisor and/or Ride Maintenance Manager of any hazards that may endanger the general public of Darien Lake staff.
Keep all records up to date and current in an accessible, organized fashion. (i.e. Logbooks, Inspection Forms, etc.)
Operate within the policies and procedures of Darien Lake.
Maintain good housekeeping standards in area of responsibility.
Qualifications
Possess the ability to work at heights above 208' above grade.
Be able to read, write and implement maintenance and inspection procedures.
Must possess own hand tools.
Must have basic knowledge and experience of mechanics, gear reduction, pneumatics, hydraulics and electricity.
Must have the ability to use those skills to insure the safe operation of rides and attractions.
Must be able to read, understand and implement maintenance and inspection procedures.
Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid New York State Drivers License and successful completion of Darien Lake Vehicle Training program.

DUTIES:
* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

* Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.

* Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
* Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
* Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle.
* Work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance, resolving their problems, or satisfying their expectations.
* Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments as to prioritizing work related activities and time allocations.
* Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks.
* Document according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders ("RO") using company-issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT application.
* Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion.
* Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule.
* Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.
* Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.
* Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.
* Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
* Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field.
* Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
* Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
* This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
* A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in leu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
* Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.

The referenced pay range represents the first and last step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Individual pay will be set in accordance with terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities:
Fabricates, assembles, repairs and/or maintains mechanical apparatus, machines, facilities and/or equipment. Requires advanced knowledge and skill to perform advanced machinery and bench operations. Works to close tolerances.
SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION RECEIVED:
Under general supervision of departmental supervisor.SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED:No formal supervisory authority. May coordinate activities of lower classified trades personnel. MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:A wide variety of hand bench and machine shop tools such as precision gauges, gears, fixtures and lathes. TYPICAL DUTIES:1.Lays out, plans, and completes all mechanical fabrication and assembly assignments with a minimum of supervision. 2.Sets up and operates own machines as required. 3.Works from blue prints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and verbal instructions or from experience in completing mechanical assignments and/or diagnosing apparatus, machine, facility, and/or equipment troubles. 4.May assemble complicated mechanical components, or complete models, instruments, apparatus and equipment. (Parts or components may be made by a machinist). 5.May specialize in maintaining mechanical equipment or apparatus in good and efficient working order. May include some electrical components of the equipment such as switches and control panels. 6.May perform necessary electrical maintenance work on elevators, hoists, conveyors, and electric motors. 7.May perform basic and routine level work commonly assigned to other trades (e.g., carpentry or electrical tasks) where performance of such tasks is incidental to performance of the mechanical work or is required in response to an emergency situation. 8.Performs other duties requiring comparable skill and responsibility as directed.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent educational training. Able to read and write English; to use shop mathematics, charts, tables and handbook formulae; to read and interpret specialized drawings and diagrams.Completion of approved apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of formal training and experience. Experience should total a minimum of 5-6 years including apprenticeship time. Required to use and/or wear safety equipment specified or provided by the University in the manner prescribed. Required to observe and follow safe work practices at all times as specified by OSHA or other regulations. Depending upon functional area, may require a valid motor vehicle operator's license and the ability to operate vehicles in a troublefree, safe and skillful manner. Willingness to work long and irregular hours when assigned. Reachable by telephone at irregular hours for call-in duty. Must keep current phone number and address on file with Trade Supervisor and Department Office.

Position Summary:
The maintenance mechanic will perform preventative maintenance and repairs to the facility and equipment therein, in accordance with applicable codes, manufacturer's specifications and policies of St. John's Home. Responsibilities include:
Perform maintenance, monitoring, testing, refining, tuning and repair to the facility and any equipment within or utilized by the facility.
Carry out preventative maintenance duties according to schedule.
Keep daily records of work orders completed and/or duties performed to be submitted to mentor.
Order part and materials and control inventory.
Clear walks and parking areas of snow and ice, when needed.
May be required to be on-call and/or respond to emergency situations during off hours.
Assist with other duties as needed that support the core team to fulfill St. John's mission, vision and values.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion required.
Three years' experience with machine repair, facility maintenance or related technical education required.
Valid and clean NYS driver's license required.
Current City of Rochester stationary engineers license preferred.
Current NYS Category 7G pesticide technician or application certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Standing, bending, ladder climbing, lifting up to 130 lbs. and pushing, pulling or rolling.
Exposure to Conditions:
May be exposed to hazards involved with building trades, standard hazards in healthcare setting (infectious disease, verbal or physical aggression), weather and temperatures typical of the region.
