Main Responsibilities:
• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
• Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Doing preventative maintenance repairs-like replacing or rotating tires-and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred

• As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background screening (to include criminal checks, past employment and education), the ability to pass a drug screen and physical as required by the Department of Transportation, and potential travel within a near geography for training are required

Position reports directly to the plant's Chief Mechanic. Incumbent performs any “hands-on” mechanical maintenance related duties as directed by the Chief Mechanic. Oversees all mechanical related activities performed by any assigned laborer.
Responsible for the general maintenance of all production equipment including preventive maintenance, diagnostic and repair work, installation of new or replacement equipment and maintaining tool and supply inventories. Should have knowledge of the following process-related equipment:
Screw and belt conveyors
Reciprocating and centrifugal pumps
Fork lift trucks
Pneumatic conveyance systems
Valves and piping components
Large horsepower fans
Operation of large bridge cranes
Large thermal machines (dryers, afterburners, power plant boilers, scrubbers, etc.)
Chemical feed pumps
Large centrifuges
Service air compressors
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as necessary using O&M manuals as reference and document all activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Perform the following “hands-on” related functions or any other related functions but not limited to:
Repack pump and valve glands
Overhaul reciprocating and centrifugal pumps
Overhaul chemical feed pumps
Tighten joints, replace gaskets, fill oil reservoirs and grease cups and change bearings
Operate all machine shop tools (e.g. lathes, drill press, milling machine, welders, )
Perform rigging chores
Replace sections of process, drain and vent piping, their connections and appurtenances
Clean out traps, elbows and clean-outs
Repair, maintain and/or replace any process or balance-of-plant furnace burners or related equipment components
Derust, prime and repaint any structural steel or process piece equipment
Perform preventive maintenance procedures including use of predictive tools such as ultrasonic measurement
Maintain all facility owned tools in good working condition
Maintain housekeeping standards at a high level, cleaning up work area at the end of each job or shift
Perform all work in a professional
Job requires considerable lifting, bending, climbing ladders, as well as other strenuous physical activity.
Education Required
Knowledge of general machine designs - mechanical discipline and/or industrial trades, welding, plumbing, electrical, etc. Must have equivalent of high school or industrial/technical school education.
Experience Required
One to three years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
