Joining our Ride Mechanic maintenance team at Worlds of Fun means you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient upkeep of our amusement park rides, including roller coasters and flat family rides. You'll perform inspections, general maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and annual rehabilitation of a variety of different amusement rides and attractions. Areas of responsibility include maintenance of gearboxes, chains, sprockets, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, wire rope, hoists, brakes, pumps, and large bearings.

Responds to the requests of the Mechanical Lead, Foreman or General Foreman and the Manager of Ride Maintenance as assigned.
Properly lubricates all park rides.
From blueprints, drawings, models or verbal instructions, general mechanical work is performed using a variety of hand and power tools and standard measuring instruments.
Makes standard shop computations relating to dimension of work. Selects materials necessary for the work.
Through walking and climbing along all areas of the park's rides, inspects all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aspects through visual and auditory observations to ensure safe and proper operation. Also inspects the structures of all steel coasters.
Communicates concerns to supervisor and/or, using own judgment, makes necessary repairs. Logs and documents all safety checks and repairs.
Provides guest service according to Company standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Company Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Meets Company's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
Adheres to Company's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee
Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.

Under general supervision, diagnoses and repairs automotive systems and components. Inspect automobiles, trucks and related equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary overhaul or repair. Diagnoses and performs repairs on fleet, including but not limited to hydraulic, suspension, exhaust, electrical, cooling, fuel, electrical and component repairs. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; automotive trade school or equivalent preferred and five (5) years related job experience with demonstrable skills in general automotive maintenance and repair; or any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must have or be able to obtain within six (6) months a Valid State Commercial Driver's License - Class A with air brake endorsement without K restriction. The Shop Service Technician will perform preventative and routine repairs on all DEUTZ and non-DEUTZ products at the DEUTZ Power Center Facility. Qualifications Required: Must have knowledge of coach or truck mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair work, and be able to show five years of experience in heavy duty diesel, automotive equipment or aviation/marine repair and maintenance as a journey level mechanic, with a background of actual heavy automotive work experience, to meet the requirements of a Class A Mechanic. Must be able and willing to instruct co-workers to perform the various operations. Must be able to read prints and manufacturer's data sheets and make legible reports. Must be able to properly operate and repair shop tools and plant equipment necessary to perform work assigned and own a complete and adequate set of hand tools suited to such work. High School Diploma or G.E.D and Class A Commercial Driver's License or Permit with passenger and combination endorsement are required.
Duties: Perform all Class A Mechanic duties assigned by supervisor which shall consist of inspecting, removing, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, diagnosing trouble, and determining serviceability of all units wiring, etc. , on any combustion-propelled vehicles or any equipment used in maintenance and service of same, using special tools, instruments, and other machinery when required, and other related duties.
Schedule: Probation schedule is Monday through Friday and rotates shifts (44 days). After probation, the schedule may be days, evenings or nights; any day of the week. Schedule is determined based on seniority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fabricates, modifies or installs equipment or parts as needed to repair equipment.
Performs routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, tires, clutches, filters, oil, lubricates vehicles, and other motor driven equipment.
Tunes engines, services valves, fuel filters, etc.
Perform electrical repairs as needed, fuses, batteries, lights, instruments, warning devices, controls, switches, modules, alternators, starts, defective cables, wiring.
Heating and Air Conditioning repairs as needed.
Maintains services logs and records of maintenance on vehicles and motorized equipment according to Company policy and regulations.
Keeps tools, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and in good working condition.
Road test vehicles as needed.
Knowledge of body and frame construction.
Skill in use of a variety of hand tools.
Skill in the use of gas and electric welding equipment.
Skill in the use of mechanized tools, jacks, and hoists.
Skill in the use of a variety of diagnostic testing and tuning equipment.

May be needed to substitute as a driver. Drives truck and trailer equipped to pick up and then deliver cement to specific sites by performing the following duties.
Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tire pressure; and all other necessary pre-trip inspections before leaving to pick-up product.
Reports repair needs identified during pre-trip and post-trip inspections to management.
Assists in yard operations by helping in lifting of materials and operating equipment.
Obtain required repairs; ensuring truck is safe to operate in accordance with DOT regulations and company policy.
Adequately secures load prior to leaving loading area.
Delivers load by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; maintaining schedule.
Transportation of the load to its required destination in a safe and timely manner by driving in and out of areas with heavy pedestrian traffic, various obstacles, and road driving conditions.
Delivery of the load and the timely removal of the product from the trailer to the destination site.
Moves levers or controls as needed to complete the delivery of the load/product.
Maintain all parts of the truck in clean condition and maintains safe operation at all times.
Monitors truck and other company equipment to ensure appearance, safety and proper maintenance levels.
Keeps proper records and documents daily activities.
Cleans truck and trailer after delivery.
Maintains high level of customer service.
