The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside. The use of safety goggles or other PPE may be required when working in these conditions.     A Day in the Life: As a Fleet Center Technician you will inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles that come into the Fleet Maintenance facility. You will work with technology and equipment including, but not limited to, scanners for vehicle diagnostics, air conditioner recovery machine, welder, torch, computerized wheel balancer, tire machine, auto and heavy truck lift, and ag/commercial tire machine to complete a variety of projects. You may order parts online or over the phone, receive parts and enter parts into inventory or on a service order. You will also assist in the facility with basic vehicle maintenance and facility cleaning such as cleaning the wash bay or assisting with vehicle washing when not busy with advanced projects. You will repair, install, balance, mount, and rotate tires on any vehicle. You will inspect, diagnose, and perform basic preventative maintenance including routine vehicle inspection, oil changes, transmission fluid and filters, fuel filters, air filters, brake inspection/replacement, battery checks/replacement, repair/install electrical components such as lighting and accessories and complete lubrication on all types of vehicles and ensure safety. Good communication and completing work orders concisely are a must. You will be cross trained in most positions at the location. You will perform maintenance on tools and equipment and perform housekeeping to keep the entire facility organized and clean. What's Expected: You will be expected to work on and around vehicles all day and be proficient in vehicle maintenance, different technology/equipment, and the products we offer. Quality customer service is expected as you will interact with customers on a regular basis. Depending on the facility, you may be asked to help other departments during peak demand times.
