Schedule: 10pm - 6:30am
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is 36.96/hour.
This role will also receive overtime compensation and shift differential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.
Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certificates.
Other duties as assigned by manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
Must furnish own personal hand tools.
Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanics support the maintenance of our Class 8 trucks and trailers and ensure that safety remains at the core of our work to maximize the quality of our business. The ideal candidate must comprehensively understand how to maintain and repair Class 8 equipment, diagnose technical issues properly and efficiently, and perform equipment reviews. Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday (5:00 AM - 1:30 PM)
Compensation: This pay scale represents a good faith estimate of the hourly wage range the company reasonably expects to pay upon hire for this position: $27.00 to $37.00 per hour. A final offer amount will depend on factors such as prior relevant experience, skills, and location.

Additional Compensation: Total compensation may also include other forms of pay such as overtime or discretionary incentives, as applicable.
*CRST will provide apprentices and transitioning military with a fully stocked toolbox. After the employee has completed 24 months of employment, he/she will own the toolbox.

What Does a Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic Do At CRST?
Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanics support the maintenance of our Class 8 trucks and trailers and ensure that safety remains at the core of our work to maximize the quality of our business. The ideal candidate must comprehensively understand how to maintain and repair Class 8 equipment, diagnose technical issues properly and efficiently, and perform equipment reviews. Work with one of the industry's youngest fleets, including most Cascadia Freightliners with Detroit Engines.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties for a fleet of Class 8 tractors and trailers and complete trailer preventative maintenance services; operate Class 8 vehicles and fleet equipment safely around the yard.
Identify and diagnose vehicle maintenance issues and perform repair services.
Maintain written repair orders and updated maintenance reference manual.
Perform lot checks to verify equipment condition, identify potential out-of-service items, and confirm load status.
Role Qualifications:
Must pass CRST background check, drug test, and MVR (where applicable).
Must have minimum tool requirement.
2 to 3 years experience minimum with Class 8 tractors and trailers.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Class B CDL (preferred)
