A day-in-the-life of a Technician A:
Technician As complete routine scheduled maintenance service on automobiles and trucks, as directed by a Manager or Service Advisor. Position Overview

Primary Responsibilities
Repairs and required preventive maintenance of tractors, trailers, and other equipment.
Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on equipment.
Run road calls to complete repairs on the road, if necessary.
Observes and listens to trucks and other equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures. Also conducts fleet check weekly on all fleet equipment including checking mileage, fluid levels, belts, tires, leaks, and cab inspection.
Drives repaired trucks or other vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
Inspects tires, DOT inspections and general appearance of vehicles and corrects any problems.
Examines refrigeration units and makes any necessary repairs to electrical and diesel operation as needed.
Maintains checklist of all repairs made on each truck and keeps accurate equipment files.
Keeps service truck stocked sufficiently to facilitate road calls.
Always keeps work area in clean working order.
Assists outside vendors on yard fleet inspections/maintenance.
Logs maintenance and repairs in shop software.

REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field.
* Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
* Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
