PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Physical Demands: Employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk, smell and hear. Mental Demands: A lube and tire technician mental demands primarily include the need for focused attention to detail, good hand and eye coordination, the ability to follow instructions precisely, quick decision making in routine situations, basic mechanical understanding, and effective customer service skills, while also managing the physical demands of repetitive tasks and being on your feet for extended periods and lifting heavy weighted objects such as heavy duty tires. WORKING CONDITIONS A tire/lube technician, typically works in a physically demanding environment, often standing for long periods, bending, crouching, and lifting heavy tires while performing routine maintenance tasks like tire rotations, balancing, pressure checks, oil changes, and fluid level inspections, usually in a fast paced setting with a focus on turnaround times; they may also encounter varying weather conditions depending on the shop's setup.
