Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans and forklifts.
Disassembles and overhauls motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends and electrical systems.
Complete all necessary documents, including vehicle records.
Manage ordering and inventory of parts.
Will act as a mentor to the class I & II mechanics.

Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure that they are working properly.
Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle.

Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.
Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.
Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.
Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field.

ABOUT THIS JOB
The Heavy Truck Mechanic position at the City of Tucson's General Services Department rebuilds and installs components and makes service calls, performs preventive maintenance to chassis, and performs body components repairs to heavy trucks and equipment.
Work is performed under the supervision of a Fleet Services Supervisor. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Repairs equipment and makes service calls by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing defective parts and components. Ensures safety by using proper equipment relevant to the repair and following required protocols. Installs new parts and components by welding and fabricating parts as needed.
* Performs preventative maintenance by replacing fluids and filters in equipment, measuring, adjusting, and recording test results, cleaning, and replacing components in equipment, checking and adjusting components, and ensuring equipment is in proper operating condition prior to releasing to operator. Tracks vehicle repairs through enterprise asset management system and/or department reporting protocols for scheduling, estimates, billing, and documentation purposes.
* Rebuilds and installs diesel, gasoline, and natural gas engines by disassembling, inspecting, measuring and evaluating internal and external engine parts. Verifies parts clearance and tolerance and makes adjustments as necessary.
* Interprets and applies information from technical manuals, web sites, schematics, wiring diagrams, system flows to diagnose and resolve issues. Investigates malfunctions and breakdowns by running diagnostics, checking for leaks and tears, and using appropriate equipment to diagnose problems.
* Contains and safely disposes of hazardous wastes. Repaints and labels equipment as needed. Maintains shop by cleaning and degreasing shop areas. Orders parts as needed.
* Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Working conditions as follows:
Work schedule may include early morning, late evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and on-call. Reporting location is Thomas O. Price Service Center.
Often works under the following conditions: exposure to extreme physical, ergonomic, or hazardous environment, which includes but is not limited to dirt, grime, chemical, loud noise and unfavorable odors.

Mardian Equipment is looking for a full-time Mechanic for our Tucson branch. This position is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing semi-trucks, trailers, cranes, pumps, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
JOB DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Responsible for performing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of Company vehicles to include electrical, welding, electronics, air brakes, LMI, hydraulic, and fabrication.
Perform Daily DOT inspections if qualified.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Responsible for documenting all field service tickets, including warranty documentation
Responsible for maintaining the order, cleanliness, and organization of the work area and
truck.
Responsible for the daily and/or weekly vehicle inspections and following up on all
needed repairs.
Prepare a written job action report that details work completed and all work in progress and
provides to the Service Manager.
Verify permits and certifications for the service trucks are current.
Understand the standard hand signals for controlling crane operations.
Responsible for providing status updates to the supervisor on work orders.
Follow all Company policies and procedures.
Provide the highest level of customer service.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma (or GED) plus any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of this position.

Read schematics, blueprints, and manuals.

Perform the job duties of lube/tire technician and laborer as needed
Assist with service calls
Assist other maintenance and office personnel when necessary
Operate maintenance pick-up truck, forklift, and other company equipment
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn as directed
Notify manager of updates regarding their driver's license: all citations, inspections, incidents, accidents, and near-misses
Maintain contact with manager to advise of problems or concerns
Other reasonable duties as assigned
Assist with general maintenance, clean-up, and other duties as assigned
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in whole numbers
Ability to communicate information in verbal and written form and the ability to listen to and understand information and directions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the ability to lift, carry, pull, push and/or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands, grip, speak, hear, see, climb and/or balance, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, squat or crawl, use legs, and feet
Constant climbing of stairs and/or ladders, working at elevations of 14 feet above the ground, and bending over
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The noise level is usually very loud.
Frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risks of electrical shock
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and chemicals, extreme weather conditions, vibration, and equipment under pressure

Per Diem: $315 USD per week, applicable to employees residing more than 150 miles from the Service Center.
A&P Mechanics play a key role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of customer aircraft. You'll troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and perform maintenance tasks while working closely with clients to find solutions.
Troubleshoot, repair, install, inspect, and maintain aircraft.
Document work per manuals and regulatory requirements.
Follow safety and Environmental Health & Safety policies.
Participate in 5S activities to maintain a clean workspace.
Operate ground support equipment as required.
Perform mechanical/electrical component removals and installations.
Provide off-site maintenance support when needed.
Assist with fueling, engine removal/installation, and component repairs
Qualifications
Valid A&P license by the FAA or Aiframe License by the FAA
Minimum 5 years of experience as A&P Mechanic.
Own basic hand tools and manage tool inventory - Tools Etched and toolbox shadowed
Willing to work unscheduled overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Basic PC skills.
Ability to obtain a SIDA badge (if applicable).
US Citizenship or authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
